LOL...so it's even worse! So that week, they've got to contend with 3 shows over All In weekend and then 4 other shows taking place in Texas a few days later. San Antonio and Houston are approx. 3.5-4 hours away so that's a little closer too. What am I missing? I honestly can't see that impacting All In sales. Quote
Merzbow Posted June 7, 2025 Posted June 7, 2025 The combination of Trips and his pals plus TKO's insecurities is too funny, the fact they're doing all this while Tony Khan just keeps his head down and produces the most solid shows in ages. I feel like 6 hours away is a very different thing to the US than UK, but yeah it feels like they're just bombarding the entire area and week in a bit of a Hail Mary tactic to dilute AEW's sales. I don't even know why either, in general aside from this one thing they're acting like the company is serious competition when in reality AEW is just in a stable but sizeable niche. Quote

The Smackdown/Raw shows in San Antonio and Houston are approx. 3.5 to 4 hours away so are a little closer, by having the 4 shows spread over different cities in Texas I think it will impact sales to some degree. I'm sure there will be fans who watch both WWE and AEW and may decide to go to one of WWE shows rather than All In. As much as it is AEW's biggest show of the year they'll be fans who have watched WWE longer than AEW has been around so might feel more loyal to WWE. Or it could just be a case of one of the WWE shows being closer to home rather than travelling to Arlington for All In. Although saying that all, I can't imagine anything WWE put on will compare to the All In card. There will also be the PR factor...AEW will be wanting to get all the press they can before All In but with WWE having 4 shows the week after, they could easily take away some of that coverage by offering WWE stars to do press in the area. With the name recognition WWE has, I would think most media outlets would pick a WWE star over an AEW one. Quote

All the fly-ins and those that would travel out of state are going to be tapped out. That would leave the final focused push for discounted and promotional sales within Texas. The WWE shows might be a week after, but the marketing begins now and for those on the fence about All In. If they even know about it. They now have a choice between home market WWE show or the day trip to the secondary brand. Or maybe they hedged their bets and just buy the PPV and go to the WWE show instead of travelling. Quote

WWE has announced a 5th show for Texas, this time it's NXT who will be moving away from the Performance Center for a show in Houston on July 22nd.
