Pretty sure I said it before but imo, they shit the bed by turning MJF heel, again. After he returned.

Face MJF Vs. Mox could have been a great PPV main event. Of course he would have failed and then they could have built to him turning heel again, following Hangman's win.

I’m kind of astounded at how bad his heel run has been. His original run as a bad guy worked because there was depth to the character he played. He was a villain, but he was also clearly a damaged individual, and that damage occasionally made its way to the surface. He had a real depth to him, not unlike Hangman Page.

And it makes you wonder what the heck went wrong. Did he run out of ideas? Were the likes of Cody, Jericho and Punk helping filter out his worst ideas? Is he coasting? Has he taken bad advice on how his character should behave?

I’d never have thought the day would come where I thought AEW would be better off without him, but here we are.

I can only assume that he requested it. There are a lot of wrestlers who prefer being a heel and I would guess he's one of them. Thing is, it shouldn't just be left up to the talent themselves, especially if their creative ideas are clearly counterproductive.

hardcore legend" Jimmy Havoc looks like he can't fight his way out of a paper bag.

I actually saw him recently in Camden and he is hench now. Couldn’t have tried getting in shape for national tv though.

A fairly nothing edition of Collision; although I did enjoy it, if you skipped it, you didn’t miss anything of significance.

I really like Zack Sabre Jr, and I hope he’s All Elite one day. He’s so brilliant at mouthing off during his match, and his shit-talking at any stage is second to none. It was great to see him, but I’d like to see him on a full-time basis.

Carrying on that theme, I also really enjoy Ishii and I’d like to see AEW do more with him. He’s really unique. And I also hope they sign Isla Dawn, and not just because she’s a fellow Scot.

The Max Caster face turn has to happen in the next few weeks, and it should come through him defeating Bowens during a 5-minute challenge. And I’m sure that’s what will happen. I’m curious to see what happens after that for him, he’s got potential - as does heel Bowens.

I’m looking forward to Hook’s eventual return. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder.

I think they need to take a step forward with the Statlander/Death Riders story soon. I’m not certain where it’ll go, although I kind of hope she remains a babyface. For me, she’s the best choice to win the TNT title from Mercedes.

Alternatively, if she does turn heel, I’ve got no qualms whatsoever about her beating Toni Storm. The Death Riders protecting a Statlander title reign rather than Moxley could be interesting.

Willow is starting to grate on me slightly, but I think I’m alone on that one.

The Bucks were fun as usual, but fuck me, I hate Roddy Strong.

Absolute blasphemy. She's an angel. I won't have a bad word said about her.

The Max Caster segment was brilliant, got everyone involved over huge and furthered two storylines perfectly. I love simple but effective and efficient booking like that. When people call Tony Khan a bad booker they're full of shit, stuff like this shows he knows what he's doing.

I also really like Sabre Jnr and wish he was in AEW permanently.

Willow really needs some substantial, to sink her teeth into, imo. She's kind of just floating around in the mid card right now.

Decent if uneventful Collision.

Takeshita is my pick to end Okada's reign. He's rapidly out grown The Don Callis Family.

That’s maybe partly the problem for me. She’s having to cut similar promos aimed at absolutely nothing, but that’s hardly her fault.

There are a few female wrestlers in similar situations - I think they made a mistake having Meghan Bayne face Toni Storm as early as they did. If she’d not already lost to her, she’d feel like the fast-rising star, heading in that direction and potentially the obvious choice to take the World title. As it is, she feels like she’s treading water slightly.

I’d like to see her essentially squash Mercedes Mone in a similar way to how Brodie Lee won the TNT title from Cody. Mercedes would probably benefit from turning babyface, and having Bayne demolish her in something of an upset would go some way towards achieving that. Main event Dynamite with it, closing with a shell-shocked Mone sitting in the ring, wondering what has just happened.

I also really like Thekla, but I think she needs a stronger direction. If Ospreay and Swerve really are out for a spell, I’d like to see the women’s division benefit. There’s so much talent there, it continues to be ludicrous that a women’s match hasn’t closed a PPV. If Toni Storm’s title reign ends without that ever having happened for her, that legitimately is a case of ‘Tony fumbling’.

I really don't want to advocate for more titles, but ... women's tag titles could give a bit more purpose to various people in that division. Bayne & Penelope, TayJay, Triangle of Madness, Willow and Stat? Mercedes and Harley? It could work.

Maybe I've missed something but have they went out of their way to not mention Takeshita winning the G1? They've even spoken about the tournament in general but not that.
