Also, why is Mark Briscoe now so focused on the TNT title? Is this as well as, or instead of, a blowoff match against MJF?

He cut a promo on Dynamite where he was said he was gunning for both, so I’m assuming ‘as well as’.

Garcia maybe joining the Death Riders is the most interesting he’s been for at least a year.

He cut a really good promo here, giving me high hopes for a potential heel turn. I hope this isn’t a situation where he doesn’t embrace the dark side as he really needs freshening up.

A very ROH-ish Collision this week. Skyflight doing a promo about gunning for the ROH trios titles rather than the AEW ones. Mina being announced with the world’s most pointless sounding title, Interim ROH Women’s Television Champion, etc. Had flashbacks to previous times when the show was mainly being used to try and make people care about ROH. I don’t and I won’t, don’t try me.

Skyflight are fast becoming one of my least favourite acts in AEW. They’ll have to do spectacularly badly the overtake the alleged sex pests and Roderick Strong of course, but they’re still awful. I do think their corny babyface act might actually translate well to a heel act.

Then there’s the fact Jay Lethal and Don Callis were both on the show, alongside Rush and Darby video packages. How many women combined are AEW unable to sign because of their presence? Doing the maths there would be depressing. WWE is rightly being slaughtered for bringing Lesnar back, but AEW deserves criticism for featuring these individuals also.

What's the crack with Don Callis? I looked into it recently and can only find that an un-named talent (presumably Scarlett) accused and un-named executive (presubably Callis) of something in TNA and it was looked into and they decided nothing wrong happened. Is there a reliable version of the events? Are there other issues or accusations?

I'd love to know what's known about him that they've ignored to employ him anyway.

That's prettty much it as far as I'm aware, it seems like the other one who isn't Jim Cornette on that shit tip of a podcast just keeps pushing the rumour.

I say this as someone who'd made the same assumptions others had (that there was no smoke without fire regarding the Scarlett Bordeaux stuff) and then got called out by someone actually pointing out there really isn't any solid anything there beyond the stuff you mentioned (and then certain professional dickheads fanning the fire). The rumours just seem to have stuck.

The other three (particularly Darby) do probably get their bad behaviour overlooked too often though.

I don't overlook Darby's behaviour. Truthfully, I just don't know. He was part of a toxic relationship. The behaviour he's accused of is awful, there's no doubt about that, but, it's not that unusual and it's hard to judge from outside. From my own personal POV only, it's something that makes it difficult for me to really like him but, equally, I wouldn't suggest AEW or any other company shouldn't employ him. I just don't know enough.

Lethal seems like a cunt and is absolutely worthless. Again, I don't know that any company shouldn't employ him on his behaviour but I know they shouldn't bother on his "talent" anyway.

Queen Aminata. I like her a lot. I like that she's managed to force her way into a prominent and regular Dynamite/Collision spot through sheer force of will by being incredibly violent and stiff. I think if they put more into her African queen gimmick she'd be a great top act for them. Her matches are decent, she's insanely beautiful, incredible physical charisma and she hits people insanely hard. Could be a breakout act for them I think.

I’d certainly suggest you read the main allegation again. It goes beyond a toxic relationship.

He denies the allegations against him, and it’s only fair that’s said. But it’s also fair to point out that it’s allegations (plural), rather than allegation (singular) from more than one woman. And they’re really nasty allegations.

In some cases I think it’s possible to give someone the chance to grow and improve.

But sometimes the allegations are too grave for that to feel appropriate. When there are no criminal charges, you have a choice to make as an employer - but that choice, I think, should be informed by detailed investigations of your own that you are completely transparent about.

There’s a toxic relationship, and then there’s being accused of rape.

I don’t think legally that emotionally manipulating someone into having sex is rape. Not by the legal definition at least.

Disgusting behaviour, but (and happy to be corrected by someone more knowledgeable, not considered that by definition.

Hologram getting hacked and having an evil clone is so fantastically shit. Top tier E-Fed angle.

I am lapping it up, I have to say. Probably helps that Hologram has grown on me a lot since I started watching again.

Very much agree. In an industry with no governance, no checks and no safeguarding, a lack of accountability and transparency is to be expected but I'd very much like to see that improve. I'd love to think someone has the morals to drive it and to ensure that there is a procedure, with senior female representation present.

I can’t speak for the US legal system, but coercive control could land a person in jail in both Scotland and England (different legal systems), and indeed has. Whether or not that could lead to a rape charge, I’m not certain. What I am certain about though, is that the allegations go beyond what most people would recognise as a toxic relationship. I think there’s a clear line between that and what you’d simply describe as abuse.
