I fully bought into comedy being the new rock & roll in the late 80s/ early 90s and Tony was one of biggest stars shining very brightly. He was everywhere and in hindsight I think he took too much one in too short a time which possibly added to his mental health issues. Like others have said, it has been a joy to see him returning to the public eye on his own terms. Quote

I had the pleasure of working with Tony a couple of occasions at some gigs and he was always really sweet given his awful struggles with mental health. I was a bit nervous meeting him first time because 1) I'd grown up a fan, knew his issues and was just generally a bit worried how to approach him and 2) I didn't want to seem like a mark. But he was very nice, I opened the show and did well, he came up to me in the break and said that he loved my eccentricity on stage and that 'I really got off on that.' I'll take that as a compliment. On his day, he was really good was Tony, real shame to hear he's passed away. Quote

I'll be completely honest that one occasion I saw him he was a bit all over the place, but I understood. The first time (as referenced in my prior post), he absolutely stormed it, was really great to watch him. I thought he was really brave and open about his issues and hoping it helped others. Quote

I think they are the biggest influence for Japanese girl groups because they were so massive there or something. 'Don't Make Waves' and 'Attention to Me' are bangers, plus before Rick Astley was covering the Smiths, The Nolan's were doing it about 35 years prior. G'wan girls! Quote
