Starmers purge is just coming to light to try and cover for the number of Tories standing down to make them look equally shambolic. Even in that case though, it's been known our Tory MP was standing down for ages, they parachuted in an ex-army bloke to win the safe seat and that had happened ages ago but it's still not stopping people talking as if he's one who's just made up his mind to stand down recently. I'm not going to say that Labour aren't looking incompetent at all but I'm sure in a few cases that this has been a part of the "rebrand" process for a while now rather than "oh bollocks, the election is coming let's start purging people quickly!" This angle is definitely having an effect. I'm not sure how prevalent it actually is. Labour are making very right leaning decisions. This does seem to have been happening for a while.
