Do you really want to see that under the criteria of the thread?

So, I’ve been thinking about the post from Ian about this for a couple of days now, and reading Pats passion for Park (LA) has tipped me over the edge. I did a thread not long ago called “Underwhelming dream matches” but here’s an extension of that - you’re the money mark, and you can put on whatever you want. Not “in their primes” but TODAY and regardless of who they’re contracted too. As long as they can still walk, book it, even if it’s going to be shite. What tickles your fancy even if nobody else on the planet would watch it?

that gives me an idea for a tournament for the AEW "Little n large" Championship - teams of one superheavyweight and one lightweight compete for the latest one of Tony's trinkets.

Given the amount of time that TK seems to spend on the Internet I'd say this now has a good chance of happening.

I have a lot of random matches that flash into my head as 'that'd be cool to watch'. Just a few I was thinking about recently;

Billy Gunn vs RVD (they could easily do this on an episode of Rampage or something)

Fit Finlay vs Darby Allin

Shibata vs Paul Wight

Feel like this would have happened on Smackdown in 2004 or something.

I would've assumed so, but a quick scan on Cagematch says they were in an Eight-Way Elimination match together (no memory of that at all!) but never had a one on one match.

They were both part of that 8-corners match for the US title where Booker T won it leading to his feud with Cena but I couldn't tell you if they interacted. RVD wrestled Booker for ages then him and Rey wrestled the Dudleys for ages and didn't collide with the Gunn/Hardcore team during those times either.

Although, they teamed once on an Aussie house show ;

WWE SmackDown @ Sydney
2004/08/27 @ Sydney SuperDome in Sydney, New South Wales (Australia)
Rob Van Dam and Billy Gunn defeated Luther Reigns and René Duprée

Demolition vs. Powers of Pain should still be doable.

And if they get Blast in, they could do Demolition vs. Faces of Pain.

EDIT: Seems original Demolition/Powers of Pain already happened and was a feud. There are a lot holes in my WWF viewing pre-WM8.
