Keith Houchen
A mate of mine used to promote a metal band called Balls Deep. Just utterly awful. Mind you, I was in bands called Sexual Deviance and Wifebeater so I can’t talk.
Paid Members Carbomb Posted February 3 Paid Members Share Posted February 3 Not a specific name, but I noticed a lot of mid-00s band names seemed very formulaic - take a negative word, stick it with a positive one, to imply some sort of macabre observation, and that's it. Bullet For My Valentine Funeral For A Friend My Chemical Romance Panic At The Disco Not a comment on the quality of the bands in themselves (I haven't properly listened to them enough, although what I've heard of Panic was not impressive), though. You can 100% tell what type of music they made from those (shit) names, this being around 2001/2.

As a side note, the B side of That's Not My Name had the same song but fans of the band could send in recordings of their name and they used them in the song. My brother in laws name is in the song. Like the band he is annoying, unlike the band he hasn't fucked off in to obscurity ☹️ Edited February 3 by Lion_of_the_Midlands Fat thumbed idiot

I listened to Goodbye Yellow Brick Road for the first time the other day and the first song is called Funeral For A Friend, so I assumed they were named after that. A quick search disappointed me; they're named after some other metal/emo song.

I know they're fictional, don't care, still a bad name.Danny Dyer's Chocolate Homonculus. See Crash And The Boys. 3 Doors Down. Three doors down from what? Sure I can think of more given time. Nah it's hilarious to me that they plucked that for their myspace page and then their song blew up. In true kfogg style I FUCKING KNOW THE FUCKING LADS AND EVEN THOUGH I FUCKING HAVEN'T SEEN ANY OF THEM IN OVER 10 FUCKING YEARS I CAN SPEAK ON FUCKING AUTHORITY ABOUT IT and they aren't serious at all. Anyway, the correct answer is and always will be Menswe@r
