When he's entering WWE his stock is already the same as a Hugh Morris or Lance Storm, and there was never a chance of him being anywhere near the upper mid card, let alone main event. To bury someone I think there has to be the possibility of the person being considered for a top position, but it's clear from the start that he was never thought of as that guy, despite his ECW run. Diamond Dallas Page says hello. Nah, I recall it being reported at the time too and it was definitely Undertaker, who was a nightmare in 2001 to deal with. He got Kronik hired then they shat the bed. Lance Storm actually got used pretty good for WCW refugees in the invasion. They had a really brilliant talent in Kanyon and just gave up after a month with him. Awesome was probably not going to have a top, top spot because he couldn't talk at all. But his card was definitely marked. It's a shame they never went with Shane Helms pitch after he got the Hurricane run where he wanted a stable of supervillains with Ivory (who would have been so better hamming it up than Molly Holly in that role) and Mike as Captain Awesome. Throw in Lance Storm being a deadpan unwilling participant and that'd be daft but very fun. @Devon Malcolm yeah he's dry, but I'll take him over Robot Feinstein asking "any memories" for two hours. Or when the wrestler starts getting into a story and RF the nonce cuts them off going “I’m gonna ask you about that later”, and then he never does. Just the worst interviewer. He had a list of questions that he had to get in no matter what, and wouldn’t deviate from it to just let the answers of the guy he’s interviewing flow, incase it stepped on his very specific order of when he wanted his questions answered.

There was a fella called Doug Gentry who passed away who sometimes did the interviews and they were a bit better. Feinstein must have been busy in the chat rooms or something. Ole Anderson was right to treat him like shit during their shoot. I've really gone off Sean Oliver too. Especially since he's hanging out Kevin Nash's arse these days. I think it's Pete from Wrestle Me who pointed out how proper weird and creepy some of his topics were in some interviews. Edited January 12, 2025 by Chili

Brutus would go on about this for years when he was pretty much a man with four moves for his career and carried by partners and opponents. One of the worst Feinstein "I'm going to ask you about that" drops was Colonel DeBeers, who was giving a good interview, rolling into the story of accidentally pulling Kerry's prosthetic foot off and it never being returned to. I think they must have had some hope he was going to be able to play somewhat of a featured role, otherwise they’d surely have chosen someone else to be the first of the invaders from WCW to pick up a title. In Madison Square Garden, no less. That being the 25/06 Raw, him losing said title to Jeff Hardy with distraction from Edge to build Awesome/Storm vs E&C on 12th July SmackDown, the much- discussed Taker house show tags being 14-15th July.

Minor quibble, Dempsey went for a chinlock at one point, which is not a move you want to do in a speed match. It doesn't matter because it was countered in less than a second, but in kayfabe, he's daft for trying to apply it.

Ah see that's what I find quite interesting about some of the Speed stuff, in that your more technically sound wrestlers that are used to wearing down opponents etc have to try and think differently and can struggle. Still not as daft as people going for pins in the Rumble.
