I’m wondering if what’ll happen will be a situation in which Richard does indeed get axed, meaning they have to seduce. Rather than your typical seduction, they have to choose to recruit one out of Hannah and Jerry, and murder the other. Similar to how James was recruited, but it at least makes the two-person shortlist more interesting. Quote
wordsfromlee Posted Monday at 12:50 PM Posted Monday at 12:50 PM One thing I found interesting about the last episode was Hannah Fry's theory that Leigh-Anne was a traitor because she went to touch up her make up after the end of filming. I was thinking that if other people agreed and they ended up banishing her and her revealing herself to be a faithful, then all the eyes would be on Hannah as she was the one who started the theory. But then at the round table Joanne brought it up and made it sound like it was her observation, thus shifting any potential suspicion from Hannah to her if Leigh-Anne's banishment blows up in their face. But they can only ever be as sure as they believe they are based on what they consider to be "obvious" Traitor behaviour. And SO many times over so many series they've been completely and utterly wrong. It's very very rare that there's a 100% complete and utter bulletproof argument that someone's a Traitor if you're actually playing the game. You have to remember that you're only seeing what made the edit - they start at the Roundtable, and then work backwards to make sure the footage you see supports the arguments taking place there. There's probably tons of stuff we don't see that could just as easily be painted as definitely Traitor or definitely Faithful behaviour. That said, you don't get much more obvious than Richard E Grant flat out saying he's a Traitor - but a game like this just seems to break people's brains into thinking it's far more complicated than it is, so the obvious stuff gets explained away, and only moreso on the celebrity version where everyone kind of already knows each other, and they're not playing for life-changing sums of money for themselves so it all feels a bit lower stakes. I said going in that I was really looking forward to Richard E Grant on this, because if people only know him as a posh old luvvy, they're going to be amazed what a complete and utter lunatic he is, and he delivered immediately. Again, it's all in the edit, but even when he's not outright admitting to being a Traitor he's grinning like The Joker, it's incredible stuff. 13 minutes ago, wordsfromlee said: One thing I found interesting about the last episode was Hannah Fry's theory that Leigh-Anne was a traitor because she went to touch up her make up after the end of filming. I think this is going to really backfire on Hannah, sadly. With only two people to choose from, the smartest thing the Traitors can do is get rid of Jerry Hall - she's a non-entity in terms of actually playing the game so would be an obvious choice to just leave alone, but she's friends with Richard so they could use that to deflect - and keep Hannah in because she'd be useful for them as someone with a very convincing and well-observed theory that deflects attention away from Richard. But the moment Joanna took credit for the theory rather than Hannah, that usefulness disappeared, because the Traitors aren't going to connect her to the theory. I'm convinced Richard survives this Roundtable. I don't think they'd have left in whoever it was saying that they're risking looking like the worst set of Faithfuls ever if they're not about to actually end up looking just that bad. I don't think he survives to the end, because they will always have "well, I don't have anything else, but Richard did say he was a Traitor" to fall back on at subsequent roundtables, but I don't think he's done just yet. And I'll be sad if he is, because he's the most entertaining part of the show by a country mile. Quote

Oh for sure, and I can only judge on what I've seen plus the bits mentioned in interviews etc, but it does sound like on the whole there aren't a massive amount of genuine "aha GOTCHA!" moments where someone has actually completely and utterly fucked it. Paid Members Jazzy G Posted Monday at 01:53 PM Paid Members Posted Monday at 01:53 PM I'd get rid of Hannah and start reminding people how much Jerry rallied around defending Richard after he confessed to being a traitor, and how she made it for Hannah to be the only one who could possibly be murdered in the last mission. It does look pretty nailed on that Richard is going, and is going to be quite remarkable if he doesn't. Is it possible the celebrity one is a bit of a worked shoot? We had Alan Carr win last year after confessing to being a traitor so close to the end, and now we've got this thing with Richard E Grant? Wasn't it that Rob Beckett said they could be the best faithfuls in the show's history if they get a traitor at the first roundtable? It's easy enough with Richard, but hardly paints them as the smartest ever. Quote

I'd be absolutely stunned if this was the case - it would be exposed by the press pretty quickly, particularly those who have a vested interest in taking down the BBC. 1 hour ago, Jazzy G said: Wasn't it that Rob Beckett said they could be the best faithfuls in the show's history if they get a traitor at the first roundtable? You know he's a Traitor, you get rid of him and they'll recruit someone else making your life harder. Try to get him to slip up as to who the other Traitors might be - he's clearly a loose cannon - and ditch him at that final round table. Quote

Mr_Danger Posted Monday at 05:47 PM Posted Monday at 05:47 PM Now that Amol ‘Moley’ Rajan has gone i guess it’s Hannah Fry’s job to be the brainiac that plays the game like a doofus whilst everyone looks to them for guidance. Quote

A role taken last year by her namesake Stephen, of course. She did actively ask the people she was in the car with on the way back from the task not to tie the theory to her at all about Leigh-Anne being a Traitor because she redid her make-up after the blindfolds session. Paid Members TheBurningRed Posted yesterday at 08:04 AM Paid Members Posted yesterday at 08:04 AM (edited) Finally got round to watching this. That castle must be freezing with the layers some of them are wearing. I really hope Richard E Grant doesn't get the boot early on. His glee and excitement is the best. He said he was a faithful to Kenny in the coffin in the same way Alan Carr did last year by cracking up as he said it. I liked Ross Kemp, the super army soldier, getting out alpha'd (aware this isn't an actual word) by actual soldier James Blunt in the first mission. Old Blunty soon took charge in the second one too. Also, James Blunt is starting to look like Dennis from It's Always Sunny. Jerry Hall has to be murdered first. Hannah Fry must be seething with her. Speaking of Hannah Fry, this is the first time I've seen on tv. Only ever see the photos of her posted here as she's a forum favourite. And I'm sorry lads, I don't see it. Something I noticed was everybody overexerting themselves with shovels in the grave mission, and James Blunt being the only one just using a rake to clear most of the soil away because it was all loose on top of a coffin, they hadn't actually buried people alive so deep that they needed shovelling out! He didn't realise til he got the reaction he did that nobody was meant to know. It's probably all bollocks but there has to be some good reason why he would just admit to being a traitor right? This was my read on what happened. if you watch it back it's exactly how he comes across. Completely clueless as to what the point of the game is or how it works. It's also worth noting their reaction, where there's a slight feel of 'do we need to reshoot that?' Quote
