At this point it already feels like it might be a mercy killing if they have indeed offed James Acaster right off the bat. Not that Amol Rajan is one of the more welcome presences in the castle but it could be amusing to see him try to turn things around on Richard's behalf all of a sudden. Yes. I saw this afterwards. I definitely need to correct that. Quote
WyattSheepMask Posted Saturday at 07:58 AM Posted Saturday at 07:58 AM (edited) Happy with Amol going first, he looked like he’d have taken the whole thing way too seriously and wouldn’t have been any fun. Ross Kemp must walk one hell of a tightrope every day if he gets that paranoid over the slightest of things. Someone call Amazon and tell them the search is over, we’ve found our new James Bond Edited Saturday at 07:59 AM by WyattSheepMask Quote
DavidB6937 Posted Saturday at 08:26 AM Posted Saturday at 08:26 AM The juxtaposition of paranoid Ross then running around like an absolute machine was quite something. What a confusing man. I'd be shocked if Richard isn't gone. There was barely anything else on anyone so I'd be very surprised if there was enough votes on a single other person. Sad for him though as he would clearly have the time of his life. Acaster is hilarious, especially watching his awkwardness knowing he's a Traitor. Luckily I think he's awkward enough anyway to just exist. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted Saturday at 05:58 PM Paid Members Posted Saturday at 05:58 PM Absolutely love Ross Kemp in this, already up there as one of my favourite contestants ever. He's such a contradiction. Looks like a hard nut, talks like a soft spoken gentleman, absolutely smashes the physical tasks but someone looks him in the eye in the castle and he starts saying his goodbyes. Word on the street is Richard E Grant worked himself into a shoot and thought the whole thing was a work, and the castle was like the green room where the mask can come off for the actors. He didn't realise til he got the reaction he did that nobody was meant to know. It's probably all bollocks but there has to be some good reason why he would just admit to being a traitor right? Was glad Amol went, I was getting Michael Cole vibes where he's probably a really nice guy but he immediately started going on about being a hard hitting journalist that's covered wars and it's just like alright mate, simmer down it's a party game. Rockbus2 Posted Saturday at 08:17 PM Posted Saturday at 08:17 PM (edited) I found with Amol that he kept pointing out he was a nice guy. Which means he probably isn't. Even though we'd figured that out when he called J.K.Rowling brave. Edited Saturday at 08:17 PM by Rockbus2 Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted Saturday at 09:03 PM Paid Members Posted Saturday at 09:03 PM They way they all rounded on Richard like that feels too obvious for it to be him, but sometimes that's how it goes. The next step from here is get Richard out of the way, murder Hannah Fry and start pointing the finger at Jerry Hall. She immediately safewords out of the coffin and the only other person eligible to get murdered does so? It's a good system. You could possibly get some eyes on Romesh as well since he was partnered with Ross in that grave digging task. These are reaches, I know, but it's how I'd be playing. Although I don't think I'd be able to handle being a traitor unless I played it like Wilf in series 1 and just played it completely straight until murder time and flew under the RADAR. Quote

Of course Dr Hannah Fry has done a video about the science of Traitors. Quote

I'm not buying into that theory, as it makes no sense that he'd have absolutely no clue how the show worked. At the very least he must have understood that it was a game and not an acting gig. I think he was just being a big eccentric fool and figured everyone would laugh it off, as an apparently obvious joke, but nobody did. I was kind of surprised everyone thought he was being serious. In any case, he's surely fucked himself and that's a shame for the show. Quote
Dai Posted Sunday at 09:29 AM Posted Sunday at 09:29 AM Yeah, that theory makes no sense at all, as if he thought that, then surely he would have thought the producers would have told him beforehand he was going to be selected as a Traitor. Thinking it was a work would actually mean telling people things like that were going to happen. Hes screwed anyway, and if the other traitors are smart they will vote him out too. Tactically it makes no sense to defend a Traitor to a huge extent, as it doesnt benefit them in any way. They can just replace them with a new/better one. Quote
Paid Members stumobir Posted Sunday at 10:16 AM Paid Members Posted Sunday at 10:16 AM Richard’s blunder has highlighted one of the biggest flaws in the game’s design. If you have a Traitor bang to rights, which all but a couple of dimwits know they have, then it makes little sense to banish them immediately, you gain far more from keeping them around and watching their interactions, seeing how they respond to murders, how they behave at the roundtable and, most importantly, how the rest of the Traitors respond to it. But there's never actual knowing. As a viewer - absolutely! But they can only ever be as sure as they believe they are based on what they consider to be "obvious" Traitor behaviour. And SO many times over so many series they've been completely and utterly wrong. It's very very rare that there's a 100% complete and utter bulletproof argument that someone's a Traitor if you're actually playing the game. Quote
