I saw a few of these on Twitter and hated them. It’s highly likely that I’m just a joyless old fuck, but I can’t imagine screeching “OH MY GOD!” at the top of my lungs for anything, wrestling or otherwise. My reaction to Punk was a sensible Decibel level “holy shit.” Joyless old fuck it is then.

You’re not really enjoying anything you’re filming yourself doing.

I said what I said, Kenneth Williams.

Yeah was going to say, if you're filming yourself then any reaction you have is going to be in part staged because you're aware of it. It's all bollocks and so ungenuine, just doing it for attention and the tik tok likes etc. Pretty much encapsulates so much of what I hate about this current generation.

Michael Cole with the moves. Point well made though, no screaming the "CAN IT BE!?" of yesteryear. A treat I didn't know I'd witnessed until I saw this.

If there's anyone who can out-idiot Hangman Page for completely incoherent nonsense in a promo exchange with Punk, it's Rollins. They've picked the right/wrong man going forward, it's going to be great/hilariously shit.

Wait til Damien Priest doesn't ask him for advice...

I watched the return clip so many times the last few days but now I want to do this with my arms every time damnit.

What is going on in the minds of those two? Cole initially seems to hate it. Then becomes a backing dancer. What're Cory Graves issues?

Graves fell out with Punk years ago over the usual thing - Punk feeling that being his friend means you owe him your loyalty in every decision you ever make. So it's either because of that, or Graves leaning into it.

Just my opinion, but Graves seems like a massive twat himself so those two were never going to remain best friends.

They probably fell out over who scratched an Operation Ivy album or something.

Graves had a meltdown the night Punk lost his UFC debut. It was pretty embarrassing. I found the tweets from a quick search.

I didn’t realise the punk subculture had a list of rules you have to follow.

They’re all very dramatic, aren’t they?

I get the impression being a wrestler isn't much different from being in high school.

To be fair to Corey Graves, which isn't a position I'm often inclined to take, he was pretty roundly shat on at the time for how pathetic and childish his comments on Punk were, but the context at least makes the sentiment behind them pretty valid.

They had been close friends for 20 years, and when Punk quit WWE he stopped replying to any of Graves' messages, not answering his calls, basically completely cut him off. A while later, Graves found out that it was because Punk expected that all of his friends at WWE would stand by him and quit their jobs too because of how badly they had treated CM Punk. Same thing happened with Colt Cabana - Punk was angry that Colt went for dinner with people who work for WWE, because how dare his friends be anything but 100% committed to CM Punk and nothing else.

Like I've been saying for a while, Punk's approach to friendship seems to be these big showy gestures of buying Joey Mercury a house, buying Danhausen an expensive old comic book, buying all the AEW women gift cards, but then falling out with people the moment they do something that he doesn't like, and going nuclear because he feels like those gestures mean that he is owed their loyalty.

Can we get them to have a match over it? Lars Frederiksen suspended above the ring in a small cage.
