Roger Cook of The Cook Report. Just seen him pop up in a documentary about the killing of British gangster John Palmer. Could have sworn he was gone. I suppose because the Cook Report has been off the telly for decades and I haven't seen him since.

That conversation we had recently about people your parents irrationally hated, my Dad loathed Cook. Called him the biggest grass going and would fume as he watched (but still continued to watch) I quite liked him, he was a quality shithouse.

I used to prank call the operator at the phone box when I was a teenager saying "James Duggan is it? Roger Cook, Central Television. I've heard you've been selling planks of wood on the black market."

This was about 4 in the morning mind you. After a night out. And we'd be pissing ourselves like it was the most clever thing in the world, when you know there's no come backs from the operator. So basically just a cowardly attack on a person doing nightshift, really.

Oh and RIP Roger. If he's dead, which I assume he isnt. So instead, love your stuff Rodge.

The last of the Highwaymen alive. I thought Kris Kristofferson would have pissed it but he died a few months back.

 

Roger Sloman, 80 and still going strong. He looked fucking ancient in Nuts in May. He was only 29 in it. 31 as Davitt for Barnestoneworth Football Club in Ripping YarnsI And that's before being THE TV DETECTOR MAN, and the Landlord who owns a shop in Mayall and Edmondson's finery.

 

Hope he lives forever, as he's a real Marque of Distinction in anything he appears in.
