Paid Members Supremo Posted October 12, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 12, 2024 MxM challenging The Acclaimed for a match at the pay per view, promising a third man. If WrestleDream doesn’t feature Tyler Breeze walking down the aisle, with an announcer shouting, “YEAH, BUT WHOSE SIDE IS HE ON?” then they might as well just shut up shop. Quote

With it being Tacoma - they might get Ricky for the laugh - Kevin Owens partner from Smackdown a few weeks ago - he's very over here. I actually bought my promotions new ring from him only a few weeks ago too! Quote

Paid Members JLM Posted October 14, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 14, 2024 (edited) Rampage 11/10/24 Conglomeration/Kingdom was a solid tag match, really liked the finish with OC leaping over the ongoing submission hold to knock out Taven and prevent the save. OC doing endless filler tag team matches on the B and C shows still feels very very wrong though. Hope that changes soon. Mone being a dick to Renee is good for the character but the promos are still not good. "Kamille's gonna stay here and watch Kris because do you know why, because money changes everything". OK. Tremendous promo from Mansoor! Completely different from anything else they've been doing and he completely nailed it. I'd rather MXM don't get serious too often because they're so damn funny, but I understand it was required here to make it clear they're meant to be the heels in this feud. Please MXM, take their spot. Statlander vignette was decent but they're retroactively telling a story that should have been told over weeks in a 15 second vignette on Rampage. Still has the heel theme song, no other change in presentation/gear either, she just high fives the fans again and she's feuding with heels. Off the top of my head: She wins the match at All Out, she still has Stokeley in her ear, she starts gunning for the TBS title off the back of the win. It starts off heel vs heel but it's OK, because over the course of it things change. Stokeley was mostly in this to bring down Willow because he hates her, he doesn't actually care about Statlander. Have his switch to recruiting tag teams be part of the story, so he's less and less focused on Statlander. Phoning in the promos, turning up late for her entrance, checking his phone during her matches etc. Maybe he starts fucking up due to this, costs her number one contender's matches or the title match against Mone, maybe his promos start including little digs at her like he used to do to Willow. Eventually he steps over the line one too many times and she dumps his ass. Stat promos explaining how she wasn't herself and she let Stokeley get in her ear and she regrets the person she was when he in her head. She doesn't immediately reconnect with all of her old pals and Willow, but it puts all of that stuff back on the table whenever they want to go there, and she's in a position to meet them half way by independently ditching Stokeley and starting to head back towards the light. Eventually maybe have her being beaten down by multiple people because she has no back up any more and Willow makes the save and I cry tears of joy. Maybe do that. Instead we got no story at all. Jericho with more desperate Jay Briscoe references, just the worst. Mortos vs Butcher wasn't as much of a slobberknocker as I'd hoped for. They didn't seem to click at the start, got a bit better after a couple of minutes but then the finish looked pretty ropey as well. Don't know why they didn't just do a sprint throwing haymakers for 5 minutes. Would have been awesome. Roddy dropping the "Frank Mortos, Attorney at Roar" on commentary made me smile. Harley Cameron promo was one of my favourites to date. Particularly loved "Capacitated": Lance Archer let his jobber get to the ring unscathed. Callis family turning him soft already. Immeditely a fan of this Jake Roberts/LFI pairing. "Rules are for children" is a very Jake thing to say. Anna Jay promo pretty good! Much better than her last effort. Skimmed through the last match as 12 minutes of Bryan Keith vs Rocky Romero is just not a main event by any criteria, let's not be silly. Opening tag was good, enjoyed the Mansoor and Harley promos. Otherwise fairly slim pickings here. Edited October 14, 2024 by JLM Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted October 18, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 18, 2024 With Rampage supposedly not part of the new TV deal, this is the size of the plastic bag I hope Moxley uses to kill the show on the final episode. Quote
Paid Members JLM Posted October 23, 2024 Paid Members Posted October 23, 2024 Rampage 18/10/24 Solid brawl from Briscoe and Butcher as you'd expect. Skipped Kyle O'Reilly vs. Aaron Solo. Jamie Hayter had one of her best 70s looks yet. Fine promo. Deonna Purazzo knew from birth that she was her brother's keeper. I am pretty sure that isn't possible. Be nice if her and Taya would do something soon. Anna Jay/Trish Adora was a really solid back and forth TV match but, as usual, Trish Adora is ice cold and gets zero reaction for anything ever. Mariah May was a delight on commentary, making fun of Anna's "two week holiday in Japan" and how often she brings it up. Harley Cameron informs us that Saraya is still in the capacitation, that she can do ventriloquism and can speak mandarin. Her promos are so stupid, and they're whacky for the sake of whacky, but her commitment to the bit and the strength of delivery means they work for me every time. Kingdom promo still calling themselves the Undisputed Kingdom. Is this still a thing? Is Wardlow still a member? Does he still think it was wise to join? Gates of Agony promo with BOTH of them speaking now? Damn. Poor Toa listing all the people who've ditched him: Tully, Swerve, Nana, Hechicero, Brian Cage. Someone give the big man a hug. MXM vs Private Party was the only match worth watching. Harley and MXM are mainly why I still bother with Rampage at all. I hope MXM still get plenty of air time after Rampage is dead. Quote
Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted November 2, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 2, 2024 Beef, JD Drake, and The Butcher in a team up?! Yes please Queen Aminata really carrying herself well. John Silver. Even Action Andretti can't ruin this episode for me. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted December 1, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 1, 2024 The best thing in all of pro-wrestling this week was the new, mysterious luchador, "Harleygram," being revealed to be Harley Cameron all along. Being unmasked twice, and the commentators selling shock and surprise twice. Distilled pro-wrestling daftness. Inject it straight into my veins. This business needs more Ian Riccaboni. Quote

The King Of Swing Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 On the plus side their match was first, so didn't have to sit through the rest of the show. Quote

Joe Blog Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Ricochet confirmed as a ukff lurker, he had trunks on. Still shit but what a difference it makes as opposed to those god awful pants. Quote
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted December 7, 2024 Awards Moderator Posted December 7, 2024 (edited) For the first time in ages* there’s an importance to Rampage this week, as they’ve put three Continental Classic matches on the episode. *not true, Harleygram was last week and was just as good as / better than the CC. Paid Members LaGoosh Posted December 7, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 7, 2024 If you skip the Jericho bit that was a cracking hour of wrestling. With this and Dynamite they've put on six bloody great matches this week so far. Collision is stacked too. I'm eating well! Quote
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted December 14, 2024 Awards Moderator Posted December 14, 2024 Skip Matt Cardona vs Bryan Keith and you’ll find a decent episode of Rampage this week. An excellent Christmas ad starring Harley Cameron, then Harley again helping to add a glimmer of Timeless hope to the Toni Storm return (please don’t let this be the end of the Timeless one). Later, Kyle Fletcher wearing 90s Shawn Michaels sunglasses, and a fun tag match main event with lots of big power moves from Hobbs and Takeshita and Archer. Quote
