I'm at a hotel every day this week for some training.

Today at lunch I put my jacket on and my bag on (I don't like leaving it anywhere) and got a coffee from the free machine to take out for a fag. Staff member was walking past so as I'm stirring my coffee I say hello and he says "Hello, who are you here with sir?" 

I tell him and say "don't worry, I'm not just taking the free coffee" to which he replies "yeah I did actually think you were"

I go outside, and then when I come back in, two of the women with me, said that when I went out he asked them if I was genuinely with them on the course! ?

Clearly I look like either someone who can't be trusted, or I've just walked in off the street to take their coffee, ffs.

I'd log a formal complaint, but make them aware you'll accept a packet of Hob Nobs (plain chocolate, obviously) as a means of resolution.

If there’s not a follow up to this in the Shit House thread by the end of the week then I will lose all respect for you.

I’ll go first.  Leave the staff some tubs of celebrations as a thank you then wait for the offending staff member to take one and stop them and tell them they’re only for people who work there.

I’m up the wall at the mo. I’m not complaining as these are nice problems to have, but work is sending me to breaking point and I’m trying to move in with my missus gradually each night as I can’t take any time off. It’s all taking longer than planned due to other circumstances not going in our favour. I’m doing my best to focus, but clearly today wasn’t one of the days I managed to do that.

I got up late after packing boxes into the early hours so had to get a quick shower before I jumped on a call, just about making it before others joined. The day then unfurled into a mess and I lost track of time, until I remembered I had to be in town for half four for a meeting about the new office.

Grabbed my jacket and made it on to the train at the last minute. Big sigh of relief.

Sent this to my better half ten minutes into the journey.

I cancelled the meeting.

What makes you think this won't be scripted and produced to be sympathetic/funny as well? I presume they wouldn't agree to do it in the first place if it wasn't going to be made in such a way.

I just don't think he'll be as easy to curate or edit when all the focus is on him and his family. Was easier to do when he was in small doses and in groups like in the panel shows. There's not really anyone to hide behind with this sort of programme, because all his family are as awful as he is.

Look, maybe I'm wrong, but this shite is being made anyway, so if so, I'm choosing to live in delusion. I certainly won't be tuning in, if that's the worry.

I don't know why you're under the impression that this is going to be an unflattering portrayal of them. It's being made by Discovery+, it's not a Storyville. This isn't going to change anyone's minds on them at all. Everyone who thinks they're awful cunts will still think that, and everyone who thinks they're traditional, eccentric English country aristocracy and nice people will think exactly the same. It's giving the oxygen of publicity to some of the worst people we know of, something that this country will never stop being guilty of, nor being apologetic for. It will be a Netflix level puff piece.

They producers of the show asked Nish Kumar if he would sign a waiver to allow the Moggs to attend his stand up show and film it for Meet the Reece-Moggs. I'm fairly sure they are going to find a way to edit it to make them sympathetic and basically everything Devon said
