Bloody hell. If UnitedEmpireEra had joined the forum years ago we could've sorted all this shit out way quicker.

LOL

I have my own conclusions but with the info we have, that looks like the most likely scenario.

There’s a documentary on Aaron Hernandez on Netflix or prime, it’s well worth a watch if you want to see the damage Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy can do to athletes minds.

They become confused, then they get angry due to the fact they are confused and don’t know why , before long they are in a deep state of psychosis and don’t know where fantasy ends and reality begins.

This causes athletes with CTE to have fits of rage into which they have no control over during but then come to realise what they’ve done after these rage black outs.

That probably explains what happened with Chris and Nancy but that’s only speculation since there is probably important info not being divulged.

Does anyone know why Dave Taylor and his wife were wandering around by the house with a tray of cold cuts yet?

Did that rumour/piece of info come solely from the Irvin Muchnick book?

Regal confirmed on his latest podcast that Taylor was (obviously) not there that day and was in Texas with the rest of the WWE crew (and has flight and hotel receipts etc. to prove it).

Regal also confirmed that he didn't know anything about Benoit's involvement - or suspect anything - until JBL wondered aloud if Chris had anything to do with it.

Apparently Regal's wife was good friends with Chris's ex-wife Martina and, when they divorced, didn't want to be around Benoit so they didn't socialise. Regal even flat-out says that his wife 'didn't like' Benoit and wouldn't let him in their house.

I’ve never been able to figure out what it is about Benoit that appeals to a weird subsection of wrestling fans who are happy to ignore or justify his crimes on the basis that he was a “great wrestler”.

I’ve been amazed at the number of FB and Twitter posts marking his recent birthday like its something to be celebrated, rather than binning him off to the dustbin of history where the cunt belongs.

Now, despite having watched wrestling for most of my life, I suppose I’m still pretty casual in nature in that the technical aspect has never really done anything for me and that its always been about the characters and other bells and whistles.

As a result (and I’m aware of my own bias) I always found him to have the personality of a lampshade and couldn’t talk for shit, so was never more than a midcarder never mind how many diving headbutts he wanted to do.

But even if you do care more about the in-ring stuff and happy to overlook his obvious short (arm) comings, killing your wife and kid can be overlooked?!

Is it because he was mates with Eddie Guerrero, who has also been been put on a pedastle (slightly over the top imo) since his death?

I know we all overlook certain things due to the nature of this scummy business we’ve followed, but I find it bonkers and totally infuriating.

Its really pissed me off today.

Because they only have wrestling and subconsciously have some lack of empathy for a female and child murder victim depending on how well his chemistry with Liger was.

Also we are in a world with EDGELORD wrestling fans on Twitter and other social media who think that they're being edgy and cool by saying BENOIT SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME and all that shit. It's mainly men of a certain age. Fuck them, they're not worth it and are mainly professional trolls.

By all means go back and watch his matches if you want, but fuck celebrating him

The online world has enabled people to say hurtful and stupid things without fear of a slagging or punch in the face that used to deliver a good filter of utter shite takes like the “Benoit was a good wrestler so let’s ignore he killed two”

I don’t think anyone posting something pro-Benoit in a “he should be in the HOF” sense in this day & age actually believes/means it. As others have said, they’re just trolling to get the reaction because they’ve got fuck all else going on in their head. Some people are just cunts unfortunately
