It's because she's completely missed the point. The reason why this particular thing was a bad thing wasn't that the couple are Disney Nonces (although that's bad enough), it's that they were so in thrall to their obsession that they expected others to join in at the expense of something that most people on the planet expect to happen, just as a point of courtesy and friendship.

But surely the cinemas don't have the right to choose who gets to see any movie for free, shouldn't it always be the movie studios who get to make that decision?

Also, the person complaining does still get to see the movie for free - they just have to wait a few weeks.

Speaking to some staff at my local multiplex after seeing Dr Strange, she had watched it the day before it’s official release at a cast screening. Maybe some chains in sone countries do this, but it’s definitely not the case here.

Surely that depends on the contract? And the point is that Disney uses their monopoly to create more one side contracts. Which is the point of this thread - to discuss ways in which Disney's monopoly (negatively) impacts cinema as a whole.

So, well over 2 years since Marty made a small comment about Marvel and still they're whining.

I agree with Kevin Smith’s full quote which proves what a stupid question it is and weird why people are fixed upon it

Spandex nonce - “Take our films seriously”

Marty - “Ok”

Spandex nonce - “NOT LIKE THAT”

I wish interviewers would stop wasting time asking about it, or asking Kevin Smith anything for that matter”
