He donated a 4 figure amount towards Lionhearts family after he took his life, so not just close friends he looks after, probably dozens missing from that.

Nope, not having that as a redeeming factor. If more people "had a clue when it comes to the voting booth", then nobody would have to rely on donations for healthcare, housing, legal aid or funeral expenses.

Rich people being able to donate to their mates and causes they care about, while the rest of us have much less say in which good causes get funding, is the right-libertarian wet dream and shouldn't be celebrated.

I upvoted for the generosity, and to be fair, I don't think the original poster was saying that it made everything OK. But you're absolutely, 100% right about the causes of it, and why we shouldn't give him too much credit.

He made it, he has shared some of his wealth. That's at least decent. This arguement is insane to me. He should have used his 1 vote better? Or his platform to promote a better political  message? Even if that were true  I don't see how that negates the simple good of helping people out.

It's up to him how he uses his one vote because it's a secret ballot (and no state was decided by a single vote in 2020). He should've used his platform not to promote and fund the current unhinged Trumpian version of the already psychopathic GOP, yes.

Without dragging things away from an on-topic subject – although that Stephanie McMahon tweet about philanthropy is instructive – most charity is a feelgood scam and it says a lot about how our society got into the mess it's in when pointing that out is considered an "insane" argument by some.

He can look at it from any side he wants but if you’re against the vaccine then you’re antivax.

I bet he’s well Brexit too.

A case of logical fallacy here, since neither "B*ris" or his band of cronies are an authoritative source on the matter of vaccines and vaccination. Not to mention that "both sides of an argument" does not mean that each side holds the same level of authority.
