Twitch is a subsidiary of Amazon, it ain’t going away any time soon

I dunno. Someone mentioned a similar, Microsoft-funded service went away, and Twitch are currently annoying streamers with DMCA takedowns and even bans over game audio.

Twitch had market-leading brand awareness before Amazon bought it. Mixer never had that even with Microsoft's backing. It'll probably fall out of favour eventually but it's got a firmer footing than most.

Yes Twitch is basically the Google or Youtube in its field atm, even competing with it at this point is daft.

Young people like watching people playing games and interacting with them, its going nowhere.

I don't understand why people have such a problem understanding the appeal of Twitch. While none of us might not necessarily pay for it, it's just a 2020s version of watching somebody play Golden Axe in the arcade.

No one ever paid me a fiver to tell me how hot I looked when I was playing Golden Axe.

I just love the fact that Twitch was JustinTV. I pretty watched all my live wrestling on there for a couple of years.

Genuinely didn't know that's what had become of JustinTV. Used to be my go to for college football streams until proper services came along in the UK.
