Fog Dude Posted January 26, 2021 Author Posted January 26, 2021 The final scores went into the opening post on Sunday evening, and the table was figured out straight after that. The chasing pack didn't cover themselves in glory, so the gap at the top is now back up to 6 points. Scoring wasn't too bad considering we lost two games to the sudden suspension of the sixth tier. Best performer MVP RULZ is now even more comfortably clear of the bottom 4. Rory slips a point behind TildeGuy and is on course for another wooden spoon again. One thing seems normal and right with the world, at least. From the fixtures that went ahead, expected wins for Villa, Man City, Leicester and Bayern all proved fruitful. The Scottish League Cup produced yet more small surprises, so that wasn't much use for point-scoring in our competition. Nobody thought that there would be 5 goals at Old Trafford after the previous weekend's borefest, but a few people did get one-pointers. A third of participants also nabbed a point from the outcome at Craven Cottage, but again, the notion that Burnley would win by a clear 3 goals eluded everyone beforehand. This update is going up a bit early this week because of an issue with the next round's D2D kick-off time, which feels like a relatively minor scheduling problem in this mad season. That match plus 9 more matches will be up in the original post shortly.

Not yet, really. After this round, there'll be 16 weeks left and 8 D2Ds still to go, including both of yours. I've set aside 3 of those weeks for the FPL Cup, and would rather not attach a D2D to the Easter double round or the final day. That leaves a few rounds free in case of any further changes. Some of the D2Ds coming up soon involve Ligue 1, Italian Serie A and the English men's Championship. If those start getting called off then we might as well suspend the competition again anyway! It's not quite panic stations at the moment, but it was a fair question to ask.
