Because our only Sunday match was called off (due to Covid restrictions that don't seem to apply to Newcastle Utd's male team), the results went into the initial post on Saturday night. Said match was a late replacement for Chelsea v Man City which of course went ahead despite the visiting side's many positive tests. Indeed, only one Women's Cup tie went ahead at all in the end and the competition has now been suspended as it's considered "non-élite", which sounds like a call for funding from Tony Khan. Three further games were lost to the weather.

Even so, scores were chronically low with no exact scores right whatsoever. TildeGuy closes the gap at the bottom of the table to 8 points as joint top scorer, whereas Rory managed just a single, solitary point. @Stinky Dad didn't take advantage of all the bad guesses as he's now 5 points off the lead, but given the low scoring he probably picked as good a week as any to miss.

Among the completed matches, Nottingham Forest cheating to win at Deepdale caught everyone out. That penalty should never have been given, and then once it was taken it was double-kicked and should've been disallowed. A six-goal thriller at the AmEx and Arsenal scoring 4 away from home successfully prevented any three-pointers, whilst a victory on the road for Boro and a narrow success for Rangers were also generally good for one-point predictions. Lastly, a rare league loss for Hearts caught most participants cold.

A new card with a bumper 16 fixtures will be up in the first post soon, so hopefully at least 10 of those will be played to a finish. In subsequent rounds we'll be back to concentrating mainly on the top flight.

The results went into the opening post on Sunday night, but then it was edited again on Monday once it was confirmed that all but one of the Scottish matches had been postponed until at least the 2nd of February, so all of the picks for those 4 ties are void. I was then able to figure out the table and it turned out scoring was higher than you'd expect from a dozen games since the favourites mostly won. Rory was the worst performer, with Stinky Dad also failing to get an exact score right. They both slip a place in the standings. Briefcase was top scorer, but joint second best participants Vegeta and TildeGuy close the gap at the top and bottom respectively to 6 points.

In England, the match at Boundary Park was switched to Dean Court at short notice. I can only give the latest information to hand on the preceding Wednesday, which is proving a problem in this crazy season. Since there are no crowds at the moment, I'm allowing all guesses for that one to stand, even though I wouldn't have included it had I known the underdogs would be away from home. Most people correctly went for a Bournemouth win anyway.

Elsewhere, the one game that went ahead in Scotland saw Stranraer come back to avoid an upset, which was generally good for one-pointers. South of the border, two ties going to penalties weren't helpful, whilst progress for Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea, Fulham and (eventually) Arsenal ended up a lot more fruitful. The exact scoreline at The Memorial Ground (#SwitchOffTheGas) and the margins of victory for Leicester and Spurs were harder to foresee, whereas the extent of Leeds' collapse in Sussex managed to evade everybody.

An attempt at a normal set of 10 with a D2D will be up in the original post shortly.
