If I recall they were the team that dropped the tag belts to Steamboat & Douglas because Dustin refused to cover an injured Steamboat? Then Windham turned heel. Two greats who had to have been around each other in the business a heck of a lot growing up. Also Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton. Two tag team specialists who were pretty much the tag team portion of the Dangerous Alliance. Yes, Eaton rotated in and out with Larry Zbysko, but Bobby & Arn were where it was. WCW had a tag title tourney that put Raven and Saturn together and enjoyed them too. Always had a soft spot for Tajjers and Saturn, mind. Also actually really liked the WWE version of FBI. There was a period where Nunzio and Stamboli were tearing it up on Velocity each week in cracking little matches with Stamboli making an awesome hot tag. Others have been mentioned, echoing Rick really. Will always love big, tough Samoan and Tongan bastards. Always thought the Headshrinkers were underrated. It was roughly around this time, I think, when Jericho started focusing more on the character work and less on the in-ring, and his dynamic with Show worked really well. I always remember their line "You don't want none of JeriShow!" Also, more of a frustration at them never getting further than a match or two at most, but Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio were a tremendous, state-of-the-art highflyer duo, and I never understood why they didn't keep that pairing going longer. Which I've only just, on writing it down now, figured was maybe meant to be a pun on Showbiz? Mash-up names are worse than the fad of every tag team name being prefaced with the word "Team". There was a point when "Team [Something]" actually had quite a cool sound to it, because it wasn't actually that common for a while, but then it ended up getting overused and ruining it. I did like the Billy Gunn & Big Show team mash-up name of "Show-Gunn", but I'm fairly sure that was never official. Most other mash-up names are shit. "Rhodes Scholars" was a perfectly acceptable tag team name, and not a particularly obscure reference, I don't think - you hear American pop culture use "Rhodes Scholar" as a byword for smug intelligence all the time. The "Team" thing apparently came about from one of Vince's brainworms of seeing something done elsewhere and then hammering it home in WWE - it was based on the Olympic teams being referred to as "Team USA" or "Team GB" or whatever. Mizdow wasn't the team, that was just Sandow's name for a bit, wasn't it? HurriKane was definitely never official. Londrick was another fanwank name to make up for the fact they never bothered naming the team. Breezango is an egregious modern example. The Fashion Police name is right there! Reminds me of that Godfather / Val Venis team name 'Supply and Demand', which I remember being accepted in school at the time because it was in the WWF Magazine once, but I don't think ever made it to TV.
