I think it's best for all concerned that I block that website. Quote
davertfnewman Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 I've quite taken to these recently: A fair replacement for these, which seem to have disappeared: Quote
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted September 20, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 20, 2025 Just tried the Aldi special edition Kentucky BBQ crisps. I’ll be buying the shop out tomorrow if they are still selling them. Best BBQ flavour I’ve ever stated. They feel like sticky ribs, but without stickiness. Amazing. Quote

Aldi frequently releases amazing special edition crisps, only to never bring them back. I’d been on their side in the Colin the Caterpillar legal dispute, but the more they do this, the more my mind changes. It’s cruel! Quote
davertfnewman Posted September 21, 2025 Posted September 21, 2025 (edited) Aldi seem to have their own version of Cheetos, Tornadoz. BBQ flavour and a flaming hot variant. Will report back on how they are. Edited September 21, 2025 by davertfnewman Quote
Paid Members air_raid Posted September 22, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 22, 2025 “Exceptional By Asda” have the Christmas flavours out and Mrs raid grabbed a packet of the turkey dinner flavour before I had chance to answer. Very nice too, worth trying for £1.34 before they inevitably go up in price near to Christmas. I know. It’s not Christmas. Quote

davertfnewman Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 Tornadoz, both flavours, turned out to be great. Will definitely work them into the rotation. Quote
Merzbow Posted September 23, 2025 Posted September 23, 2025 Found some Wasabi Lays in the local Asian supermarket, solid 8/10. They have a real nice kick but it's not overpowering the potato crisp. Quote
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted September 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 24, 2025 Went to aldi to see if they had any of the special edition Kentucky BBQ crisps left, and sadly the shelves were now full of Christmas goodies. I must have loooked forlorn as the lad sticking the shelves asked me what I was looking for. He nodded when I said they were the greatest crisps ever and told me to wait a minute, went in the back and brought me out 5 bags that were on the way back to the depot. I think he’s my new best friend. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted September 29, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 29, 2025 These were good, as Bret's always are. Mild, slightly fruity - sort of a Coronation chicken kind of flavour. Quote
Cousin Jim Bob Posted October 10, 2025 Posted October 10, 2025 I have seen some online recommendations lately for these from Lidl. Very nice they are too. Light Lays type crisps with a Garlic flavour that builds well. You get a bloody big bag for £1.50 too. They are part of Lidl's Central and Eastern European week, and available till next Thursday. Great value for money and I also went to Aldi to see if they had this. They did as well. Seen quite a few recommendations for this too and it pairs devastatingly well with the garlic crisps. It is extremely hard not to destroy both in one sitting. It's not as big as it seems in the picture as the pot is quite shallow but you get 170 grams. Well worth £2 and would definitely buy again. They have a few of these Loaded Dips, the Indian one is supposed to be nice too. Quote
