Best crisps?

I have to have them sporadically, but they're a nice accompaniment to crisps. Aldi do the nice flavoured peanuts and best scratchings come from a butchers.

I like a truffle crisp, and my local shop is selling these at the moment, so naturally I gave them a go:

They’re…fine? A real 3/5 crisp. They’re not as good as M&S’s olive oil and truffle crisps, or the Torres truffle crisps, but they do the job well enough. I like a strong truffle flavour, and these are very middling - you can taste the crisp as much as you can the truffle. I’m sure for someone out there, that’ll suit their palate perfectly and if that’s you, you’ll probably love these. And although it says ‘tortilla’, don’t expect Doritos, they’re just normal crisps.

Do we not need to say pork before scratchings these days? I don't think I could buy something that's just called scratchings.

A shorthand, but I can't think of anything else being scratchings beyond pork scratchings.

Not to be pedantic but there's a Filipino shop fairly close to me where I bought chicken scratchings, they weren't as nice as I'd hoped but technically it's not just pork scratchings that are available, but they're the better of the options 

Every year there's a two day Filipino fiesta at Woodgate Valley where there's plenty of interesting food choices, most of which is delicious but one thing I have never and will never be tempted by is Balut, Google it at your own risk.

Bone Daddies ramen restaurant in Soho put chicken scratchings on their chicken ramen - the whole thing is delicious.

And no - I have never been tempted to try balut, and I don't even understand how it's edible.

Are Walkers getting weaker in flavour, or is it just that we've been spoiled by McCoys?

The Sticky Teriyaki are nice enough, but they need to be stronger/richer.

I picked some of these up in TK Max:

And my goodness, they’re good. I like a cassava crisp anyway, the flavour of the crisp itself is much nicer than your standard potato-crisp, and the addition of searing heat only makes it nicer. One or two crisps only give you a mild burn, but as you make your way through the pack it absolutely builds, and I love that. I don’t typically like the slightly-smokey flavour of a Carolina Reaper, but this doesn’t really have that taste, the flavour is really nice. I’d love a version of these with a twist of lime, that would really hit the spot. 9/10.
