All Tories Are Cunts thread

Seems @PunkStep's MP is a bit of a weirdo. He's part of the government who created these laws! Not to mention the hypocrisy: they want to crack down on carefully-managed vigils for murdered women, but not on people refusing to do their bit in helping to contain a pandemic.

The same Charles Walker who -

voted against the proper funding of public services and robust action to tackle tax avoidance and evasion.
voted against directly funding free school meals over the school holidays during the coronavirus pandemic.
voted against paying higher benefits over longer periods for those unable to work due to illness or disability.
voted for more restrictive regulation of trade union activity.
voted against removing hereditary peers from the House of Lords.
voted against laws to promote equality and human rights.
voted against a banker’s bonus tax.

Armando Ianucci couldn’t write it any better. He honestly must have thought this was a “gotcha” moment but he’s been ripped to shreds in the thread by people pointing out just about every other published report lacking the Union Flag, including the Duchy of Cornwall’s annual report, y’know the actual heir to the throne’s trust. The calibre of politicians in this country is woeful.

Completely normal Island...

@Carbombnot my MP, my MP (also a Tory) is registered disabled but voted in favour of disability cuts. Sounds strange no? His family were wealthy enough to pay for treatment abroad for him growing up, so yeah- fuck everyone else. You can't get more Tory than that.

The only thing I expect in an “official report” is a load of Times New Roman, not bloody flags.

Can't have Times New Roman after Brexit, it sounds foreign. What is wrong with using a good old British font like Sherwood or Chaucer.

They must be cursing Jeremy Corbyn on Merseyside after Starmer agreed to allowing that Tory committee to oversee the council following the debacle they've been having there recently.

What do you think resonates more with voters. An MP attacking the BBC over patriotism, or it being pointed out that reports tend not to include any flags?

They know what they’re doing and they know it’ll get lapped up without any consequence.

I know somebody who grew up in Broxbourne and who was disgusted by his neighbours' attitudes to disability, only for him to end up 'escaping' to equally Tory Wiltshire and Essex.

Anyway, until about 18 months ago, anything funded by central government would generally have the national coat of arms next to it. There's nothing British or traditional about plastering the flag everywhere. In the case of the BBC, the only thing they're required to put on a report is, erm... the BBC logo.

The current government is just aping what the EU does with projects that it funded. On top of that, ministers probably think people are too stupid to recognise the coat of arms so they've replaced it with the better known flag instead.
