Guest
When scraping the barrel of increasingly obscure Christmas traditions to over-commercialise, it was only a matter of time before the stocking satsuma had its moment.
Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted October 22, 2020 Moderators Share Posted October 22, 2020 (edited) Plus the Chocolate Orange was the stocking filler through the 80s and 90s. Edited October 22, 2020 by Astro Hollywood
SuperBacon
I've often wondered why chocolate apple flavour has never been more of a thing.

I know Milk Tray added an apple something to their selection a few years ago and it was bloody disgusting.

Particularly in the states.

Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted October 22, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted October 22, 2020 I did used to bring these apple pie cookies to work and they were really popular but they're practically cakes tbh and people already know that Apple pie is nice. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted October 22, 2020 Moderators Share Posted October 22, 2020 Orange is a warming winter flavour - it goes in mulled wine, it goes well with cinnamon which is a very Christmassy spice. It makes sense as part of the thematic palate of Christmas. I don't think there's anything more to it.

deathrey
Apple is a lovely flavour but not one I would ever think to combine with chocolate. It goes well with cinnamon, toffee and things of that ilk. Apple crumble with ice cream or custard is wonderful. Green apples make wonderful sweets. deathrey
I've been making a lot of my own biscuits and cookies at the moment (in the absence of anything better to do). I've done dark chocolate and pecan, mini rolo and pecan cookies last week. This week I'm going to do coconut macaroons and M&M cookies.
