The same actress plays the mother of both Tony Soprano and Frasier Crane.

TIL that Hakan Şükür, one of Turkey's greatest ever players, is now living in political exile in the US because of his links as an MP to the Gülen Islamist group, and also because he insulted president Recep Erdoǧan on Twitter (apparently they still have lése majesté laws there). He's been living in California, at one point working as an Uber driver because he believed he was being harassed by Turkish agents when he tried to run businesses, but he's now running a football school.

TIL that people without masses of followers can monetise their twitter accounts based on the levels of interaction they get. I always assumed you had to be in a position of direct influence to get paid for social media. Turns out, as long as people are replying to, or 'liking' your posts you're in. Just post something horrendous, stupid or controversial that causes folk to reply & cha-ching.

It explains so much.

Sir Steve Redgrave, Sir Chris Hoy, Sir Mo Farah and Sir Jason Kenny were all born on the 23rd March.

My exes birthday. The only reason I ever remember? Bret Hart vs Stone Cold at Mania date.

Just found out that (Deadpool spoilers ahead)

Spoiler

the Welsh Deadpool in the new movie (or Welshpool) is played by Paul Mullin.

Shouldn't be surprised, but it is amusing.

Recently I learned, like probably many of you from the same Twitter source, that everyone who uses the phrase “blood is thicker than water” means the opposite to what it’s supposed to. It derives from “the blood of the covenant is thicker than water in the womb”. Meaning the bonds we choose are stronger than ones formed by the chance of bloodlines. I concur.

That Ringo Starr's solo stuff was fucking huge post Beatles for most of the 70's. Singles and Albums. I know that makes sense because of the size of the fanbase but it seems none of the songs lasted at all in the public conscious like the other three Beatles solo stuff did.
