Paid Members Carbomb Posted June 14 Paid Members Share Posted June 14 Well, that's put the fucking mockers on my Friday evening. Today I learned that Mike Oldfield, one of my favourite artists of all time, is a Trump supporter who "would have played at his inauguration if he'd been invited", and is a right-wing Brexiter (as opposed to a Lexiter). Fucking state of it.

Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted June 17 Moderators Share Posted June 17 John Spartan you have been fined one half credit for a sotto voce violation of the verbal mortality statute Is what the computer says in Demolition Man when Spartan is muttering swears to gather enough tickets to use for toilet paper. I just figured this out today after having seen the movie millions of times. Was listening to Terry Pratchett's Night Watch on audible and he used the phrase sotto voce and the penny dropped. Feels amazing tbh. Made my day.
Harry Wiseau
Apparently Bird Bird was originally supposed to be on the Challenger Shuttle that blew up upon takeoff. https://www.history.com/news/big-bird-challenger-disaster-nasa-sesame-street

Harry Wiseau
Apparently the label on Angostura Bitters is too big fore the bottle because the brother who were at that point running the company decided to have a redesign, one did the bottle one did the label and they didn't consult about it so the label was too big but they just stuck with it. Paid Members Monkee Posted June 21 Paid Members Share Posted June 21 A club sandwich is named “club” because it’s chicken and lettuce under bacon. I never thought about it really. Not sure what that means for club soda. And, cue SuperBacon…

And that someone just decided to make up the letter thing.

I mean, my source isn’t 100% foolproof - I heard it from William Hanson on I Sexted My Boss. I did just Google and apparently it’s a myth but it still makes sense ??♀️
