A pie should be fully enclosed in pastry, not just a lid. Exceptions of course include shepards pie, cottage pie, pizza pie etc. But in my opinion if it's pastry then it has to have a bottom or it can fuck off if it thinks it's a pie.

The resale value goes through the floor; that why you should only buy used pies.
