Paid Members Kookoocachu Posted December 4, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted December 4, 2014   A cat typically has a tail. Are you gonna tell my manx she's not a cat?  Manx cats do have a tail, a little stubby one. And are gorgeous.  Fray Bentos should be called a tin pie or something.   Hah, I don't even have a cat! Game, dart aaaand the match.  Damn you preying on my love of cats
King Coconut
So what about a pie with a lattice crust, you pie fascists? Get out of that one.
Loki
Fray Bentos is a fucking pie, people. It has a base. A tin one.  What, so you eat the tin do you?  Explains a lot.  Coco, a lattice top is ok, it's the pastry base that's important.  You know what?  A pie with just a pastry top, is a cobbler. Moderators PowerButchi Posted December 4, 2014 Moderators Share Posted December 4, 2014 I didn't even think members of the Bullingdon Club ate stuff like pies, I thought they ate swan and unicorn terrine.

I trust the words of Fray Bentos in perpetuity over yours.  I think Bentos is in the clear as it's very clear what you're getting when you buy one. However, restaurants that have to cheek to serve a pie with no base are simply not on.

King Coconut
I presume they're served in the pot they're baked in, and if that's the case, it's a pie.

Yeah, ours were just tray baked mince meat and onion with a shortcrust lid. As dry as a nuns cooch.

Yup, and the pie served in l'hopital is normally just filling with a pastry top, everyone's (well, the gays) just being precious about pastry bases.
