The Gaffer Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Had I not seen it on the internet, I'd probably have had no idea Michaels was taking the piss out of Hogan. A lot of it just looked like his usual flopping around, going all in on some 80s style die-at-the-hands-of-the-superhero match. Especially considering he was playing a heel with a small bit of a comedic edge.

It's a proper main event too when you watch it out of week-on-week stories now, feels like the 2005 equivalent of a Rock or Brock PPV main event, even though Hogan had actually been in and out of things a bit more at the time. Despite how great Shawn's part in the build up was, it's a better standalone match without too much story when watched now. Not unlike Rock/Hogan from WMX8 actually, which actually suffers if you stick on that bloody nWo truck segment beforehand.

The Austin match was on The Dungeon Collection from a couple of years back and I think the Race/Backlund match was on the Best of MSG set, but the others are unreleased to the best of my knowledge
