Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted July 31, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted July 31, 2014 I'm glad chest chops aren't as prevalent in WWE as they used to be, I downloaded a torrent of all the Royal Rumble matches from 2001-2010 and I've been enjoying watching them pretty regularly, in the 2005 Rumble there's a big chest chop spot where Benoit, Eddie And Harcore Holly are all chopping each other then they all take turns mercilessly chopping the shit out of Daniel Puder before throwing him out of the match. The audience were loving it and I know no one knew Benoit was going to murder his family back then but seeing three veterans bullying one rookie made me feel uneasy, I'm glad the landscape has changed a bit. Sure, the Smackdown 6 and all that jazz was great, but the shows are filled back to back with such awful "edgy" shit.Half of it is Vince and Brock Lesnar braying the shit out of Zack Gowen and Stephanie Mcmahon, then you have all that weird Al Wilson/Torrie Wilson/Dawn Marie stuff, the Sable/Steph stuff, John Cena getting an arena full of people to shout stuff like Fuck and Dick and Cock Sucker.Then you have the HLA stuff, more man on woman violence, live Sex Celebrations, Kurt Angle threatening to rape Booker T's wife, Jamie Noble facing Billy Gunn to have sex with Torrie, and he genuinely brings a briefcase full of porn and sex toys to the ring, and he's reading Torrie's Playboy backstage and they show her tits.Also, blood in matches isn't as fun as I remember it. Eddie vs JBL and Zack Gowen vs Vince are shocking for blade jobs (if they were both hard way then that's mad). Blood is literally squirting out of their heads.It really is the dirt worst era in wrestling looking back. Not even The Attitude Era was as awkward to watch as this. Also, to what extent has Chris Benoit been erased from the history books on the network? Are his matches missing from the cards he appeared on? Wrestling was brilliant and flawless all the time and there was absolutely nothing to dislike in its entire history, and then one day it went PG and became shit overnight because they hired John Cena and Hernswiggle. It was literally Austin running over Rock's rental car for mad workrate and lulz on Raw, and then the next Smackdown, Harnswuggle won the Cruiserweight belt from the talented guys who had workrate and charisma, and Cena wrote poopy on a car. Nobody ever got sick of attitude era style edgy wrestling and the WWE never ran out of decent ideas for it, everyone loved every bit of it. It was PG that ruined wrestling. No, the events are all intact (well there are a few music changes in WCW especially). I'm not in any rush to have a Benoit box set day but when I subscribe to the network I'd have been annoyed if his matches had been left out, much in the same way I found them blurring the scratch WWF logo annoying. WyattSheepMask Posted July 31, 2014 Share Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) His matches are there but they are not bookmarked/chapter pointed (White Dot - start of match, Red Dot- finish) so you can't just go straight to the Benoit match (unless he's on first). You have to go to the finish of the previous match and then fast forward. When you sign up, you'll notice a zonking big gap on the timeline between a couple of the chapter points, that's usually where Benoit's match occurs  Blood is in colour, think nudity is blurred, and by nudity I mean if you ever see a divas nipple.  The New Jack matches were removed while they sorted the music overdubs I think.  You'll be happy to know that WWF logo is not blurred, or if it is I haven't come across it yet Edited July 31, 2014 by WyattSheepMask Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
