In case you were still wondering what/who is getting the blame for the SummerSlam buyrate, Vince isn't mincing his words:

Vince McMahon said PPV is attraction driven.

"SummerSlam was not the right attraction. You don't knock them all out of the park. That one was a swing and a miss."

He should blame whoever came up with the idea for Bryan to do the "I have a bigger moveset than you and I worked with real workers in Japan" build.

I remember at the time thinking both men were utter bellends, so I can only imagine what randoms that don't look at message boards that often thought of it.

You had Cena going on some daft pro-WWE rant which seemed to ignore Bryan's point, making Cena seem like a self-righteous zealot. Then you had Bryan sounding like a gimp going on about how he's a proper wrestler and Cena wasn't, despite Cena being a multi-time champion and being the modern face of wrestling.

Everyone's assuming it's 'Daniel Bryan's' fault for the buy rate being so low - but he was against Cena, you're most marketable superstar. We also had CM Punk vs Brock, which had more build then the main event

I personally enjoyed Summerslam and bought it, which is something I swore I wouldn't do after Mania 29.

Moral to the story is you don't put your big stars against indy geeks with shit haircuts I suppose. Because only people who put Daniel Bryans more famous ring name in inverted commas will buy it.

By way of Twitter, Missy Hyatt has a plan:

i might go 2 hard rock casino w/ friends. if i hit the jackpot, i will start a rasslin promotion. moondog championship rasslin

i think a promotion with nothing but moondogs & concession stand brawls can be bigger than tna.rob naylor would be the gm out of pity

Missy Hyatt and no nudity, sex or general slutty antics involved?? I always figured her vision of TNA would be.. Well.. T 'n' A..

Has Kane ever had a "classic" match? The only one I can really think of that I'd rate highly is Kane/Taker at WM14.

He's been around forever, but I struggle to think of matches I'd put on his "best of" DVD that were on there for quality and not just character.

"Classic" is pushing it, but here are a couple of my favourite Kane matches -

Personally I thought his match with The Rock on a post-SummerSlam '98 Raw was really exciting, in a truncated TV match kind of way. There were a couple of factors that helped - Kane still had quite a bit of his "indestructible" air to him due to having only been beaten by Austin and Taker on TV (with a fair bit of shenanigans or three Tombstones on both occasions), the crowd being red hot, and Rock being right at the pivotal point of the super cool heel that everyone is dying to cheer, actually turning the corner. You basically have the guy that the rabid fans are ready to throw their full support behind, against a seemingly impossible obstacle. Of course they go nuts hoping Rock is going to pull it off, the action is rewarding, and it remains one of my favourite Raw matches since pre-Attitude.

The cage match with X-Pac at Armageddon tells a very good story throughout and plays very well as a decisive feud-ender. Shame it wasn't really the end of their feud which was stretched out and ultimately ended in a convoluted manner involving Rikishi and Pete Rose.

The match with Edge at Vengence 2005 is much more fun that I had expected it to be. Timing is crucial again here, as Edge and the newly-turned Lita are the quintessential heat magnets, on a night when the live crowd were up for anything anyway. It's a very satisfying match.

Seeing as all WWE tag teams split up after a period and they probably have plans for Cody, it's quite likely.

I just hope they keep Goldust face, though. He's always better off playing the babyface - whether that be his character or his match quality. Cody is boring most of the time, but he's at least decent as a singles heel.

With that dynamic it could be a fun midcard match.
