I thought he was absolutely terrible but I have enjoyed a few tits coming on my Letterboxd when I called him shit telling me I'm misunderstanding him, so I might watch his other one for more such fun. Paid Members gmoney Posted September 2, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted September 2, 2019 Their old podcast was great, stupid fun, but you can see why Ed Gamble probably didn't want to carry on doing stuff like that his whole career.
Liam O'Rourke
George Carlin, George Carlin, George Carlin. Anything from 1990 to 2001 in particular.

Stick to the Apollo, you Michael McIntyre mark. Real comedy fans appreciate workers like Jeselnik.

ThumpSquids
Amazon Prime is stuffed full with Doug Stanhope right now. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 2, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted September 2, 2019 I watched Wanda Sykes' new one last night and it was pretty good, not one of her best though. Bridget Christie's was average but her jacket was worth the admission.
wordsfromlee
I really enjoyed Bridget Christie's. I'm a big fan of her Radio 4 stuff like Bridget Christie's Utopia and Mind The Gap.
alex1
Is the new one from Aziz on Netfix any cop? I've avoided it thus far as i thought it might be bogged down with his 'consent blindspot' that was reported on last year

Might explode. I read his new book, Perfect Sound Whatever, on Friday and it's brilliant if you're a big music nerd or like hearing people relive a breakdown. It's made me realise I need to watch Repertoire again as I've only watched it twice.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 2, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted September 2, 2019 I suppose I'll stick my head above the parapet here and say that I honestly didn't get much out of Acaster at all. Watched his first two shows and gave up. It wasn't bad, I just didn't find him funny.
Paid Members gmoney Posted September 2, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted September 2, 2019 I feel mainly the same, though he does make me laugh sometimes. I enjoyed the food podcast he did with Ed Gamble, but I watched one of the Netflix shows and really wasn't that arsed with it.
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted September 2, 2019 Moderators Share Posted September 2, 2019 (edited) I think it's worth watching all of repertoire if you're on the fence but enjoying it at least a bit. Because it all ties together brilliantly and really makes you appreciate the quality of the writing. There's a reason these guys are talking about rewatches; it really is objectively masterful writing whether you find him funny or not.
