Everybody will be getting ready for their long weekend away, or on their way back from the Monday to Friday getaway. Or will be fobbed off to holiday club while the parents are at work. The difference between 10am and 11am is it gives dad an extra hour in bed recovering from Friday night. Quote

A rather shameful confession, but my eldest has…gotten into Superhero stuff (I have failed as a father!) but jokes aside he’s also gotten into graphic novels in a big way. He’s asked me for one that appears to be out of print. Does anyone know or could recommend a reputable/reliable source for pre-owned stuff at all? It’s Spider-Man Blue specifically he’s looking for. Zendaya especially is excellent in this one. Obviously Sadie Sink is great as well. Unlike a lot of recent Marvel stuff, there's genuine heart and warmth in this. Quote

Would have been better if the woman sitting two seats away from where I was didn't keep asking her boyfriend what was going on and who that was after having complained about how the kids would ruin the movie, but it was still an enjoyable movie. Kids were dar better behaved than she was. There was a good emotional core and some impressive set pieces. It did everything it intended to do, and did it well. I'll always unconsciously compare Spider-Man movies to the second Sam Raimi one, and this one had its moments. Post credits tease was brief, but I saw what they were doing with it, apparently unlike everybody else in the screening. I look forward to Secret Wars. I have a feeling people are going to be disappointed by the ending of Doomsday. None of the trailers were particularly family friendly. I don't think any of the kids there were particularly looking forward to Dune part 3. Quote
