It's got Damon Lindelof behind it so the writing is rock solid with loads of intriguing set ups and satisfying pay offs and twists. Kyle Chandler is brilliant in it. Quote

Just binged through it on a flight. Very underrated in general is Kyle Chandler. I will say though that your lad Aaron Pierre is a massive star in waiting. He carries so much quiet charisma and his physicality is impressive. Funnily enough there were similarities with the Watchmen show so it makes sense that Lindelof is involved. Quote

It's 2026, there's a huge part of society that are giving it the 'I don't want to watch a film about a strong girl' act. Just look online for more than 5 seconds. Unfortunately, every normal thinking person is also sick to the back teeth of superhero movies, so while they'll still turn up for your Super and Spidermans the lesser knowns just make them roll their eyes and go 'another one?!' Those two elements together made the perfect ingredient for Supergirl being a bomb. I don't know why they bothered. It was always going to fail in this climate. Lanterns is doing well because people don't have to get off their arse to watch it and it actually offers a fresh take on the superhero thing. I personally have no interest in 'what if True Detective but super powers?' but a lot of people obviously like it so fair play to them, they've found a take that works. Quote

I loved how they differentiated her personality from Superman's based on their differing histories, and I particularly loved how they didn't make it a "save the universe" thing for once. It's a shame it didn't do well, but I agree that it's most likely down to franchise fatigue. I certainly don't think it's shit. Quote
