Paid Members SpursRiot2012 Posted August 13, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted August 13, 2015 Also, re Suits, not only is Donna beautiful but Louis Litt is the best character on the show.
Hounds Of Justice
Anyone started watching that show Aquarius with David Duchovny, based on the Charles Manson family, also has Malcom X I think in there, bit dark but I like it so far, just curious what others think of it. Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted August 13, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) I watched all of Fargo the TV series over the last couple of days. I've always liked Billy Bob Thornton and this was the role of a lifetime for him, he was brilliant. They nailed the Coen bros tone and pacing perfectly too. I thought it was such a weird idea when it was announced but it worked really well. Is there still going to be a second season? Merzbow
Yep there's a second season on its way soonish, I can't wait for it. Â The last episode of People Just Do Nothing is brilliant, and not just because Miche looks proper hot when done up.
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted August 13, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted August 13, 2015 There is indeed! It's going to be set in the 70s and comes out later this year. There's a trailer online.

Paid Members PunkStep Posted August 13, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) I'm also re-watching The Wire and its still up there as one of my fav shows of all time. There's so much great stuff in it. Its close to perfect.I'm working my way through it for the first time chokeout. Add me to the 'series 2 wasn't all that' camp. Series 3 however- shit's getting real. The Hamsterdam plot is good and the power struggle within the Barksdale Crew is really keeping me glued. Paid Members chokeout Posted August 13, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted August 13, 2015 Season 2 got stick because of the move to the Docks although, looking back, it may be my fav season. There's a lot to like in it. But yeah, when they throw themselves back into the street level stuff in 3 it really kicks it into all time great territory
Paid Members PunkStep Posted August 13, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted August 13, 2015 Series 2 was alright, but not great. The main lot weren't as interesting (Lester for example was terrific in series 1) and some of the dock characters weren't all that. I liked Frank, Ziggy and Vondas but Frank's nephew (Pornstache Mendez from OITNB) was a bit cack and I thought The Greek was a poncey boss. Too much of something I've seen before- the unassuming seemingly gentle old man gimmick.
sammorgz
Onto the fifth season of the Sopranos now. I can't stop watching it haha. Any free time I have to myself I'll stick an episode on and then it'll be "oh just one more" until I have been sat there for a few hours. Â It's a fantastic show and sure to be up there with one of my all time favourites when I'm done with it. What I was wondering though is did any one else find it difficult to empathise with any of the characters? I mean I like all of the characters, they're great but I find it very difficult to be sympathetic towards their problems. Maybe I'm not supposed to be as most of them are ruthless, but even those who aren't I'm struggling to feel bad for. Â Amazing show though. Mr_Danger
Ted Danson is in season 2 of Fargo! Â Is it just me or is Gillian Anderson much hotter in Hannibal than she was in her X Files prime. You know she'd be pure filth in it as well.
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted August 13, 2015 Awards Moderator Share Posted August 13, 2015 What I was wondering though is did any one else find it difficult to empathise with any of the characters? Maybe I'm not supposed to be as most of them are ruthless, but even those who aren't I'm struggling to feel bad for. Â That's almost exactly the point. Your protagonists, and particularly Tony, are hugely charismatic but not sympathetic. Almost every problem is of his own creation and because of his choices. Try not to forget this is mafia hoodlums we're dealing with! Â The "rape" episode is the best challenge to this, which I don't want to say too much on unless you've seen. Paid Members LaGoosh Posted August 13, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted August 13, 2015 He's up to season 5 so he's seen the rape episode. Â Yeah you can't really empathise with any of the characters but by the end that's the point really. They all have the opportunity to change at various points but decide to stay shallow horrible unhappy people because changing would be too hard.
