I can't think of who was around at the time, but off the top of my head you had Angle with the Anklelock, Voldermort had the crippler-crossface, Cena with the STF, Flair was still kicking about at that time too and I think crowds like to count along to three counts rather than have the suspenseful "will he tap?" moment so you need a fair amount of guys with different impact finishers. Paid Members air_raid Posted December 5, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted December 5, 2015 Plus, when Punk was moved onto Raw he invariably was mixing with guys above him on the food chain, especially during his "too much too soon" first title reign, so they wouldn't have wanted guys looking too weak by submitting to him.They did a great job with its reintroduction in shafting Undertaker at Breaking Point though. Punk switched to the Go 2 Sleep a good bit before Benoit. Â According to this video John Lauranitis told him he needed an impact finisher that he could set up beforehand. Â Edit.
