Keith Houchen
Elvis meeting Nixon sounds boring? It was fascinating! Read up on it and see how Elvis was Nixon's spy. I didn't know about this but I'm already excited!
Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted November 7, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted November 7, 2014 I found Frost/Nixon to be utterly brilliant, so this seems to be some next level shiznit right here. Sounds fantastic. D-Mal will be happy to see Shannon as Elvis, me reckons.

Michael Shannon as a spy Elvis under the watch of a crooked president actually sounds great. I can't wait to see how he looks.
Guy Bifkin
Basically Elvis, concerned that America's youth was being led towards a future of drugs and tree hugging by the likes of The Beatles and Dylan, wrote to Nixon asking him to be made a Federal Agent for the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. Nixon duly obliged, hoping the association with the King would make him more popular with the kids.  I have this up in my flat:
Loki
The only person they need to talk to about playing Elvis is Val Kilmer.

Keith Houchen
He was, which should make the film even better! An off his box Shannon playing The King. It's the stuff of dreams!
Paid Members Maverick Posted November 7, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted November 7, 2014 Knowing how off the wall Shannon can be it's a pretty great casting choice. Wouldn't have minded Burce Campbell as The King either!
Guy Bifkin
This is golden era Elvis. He's divorcing Priscilla and entering into his deep fried peanut butter cheeseburger/prescription drug/bad kung fu phase. Shannon is the man to pull it off. Paid Members Bellenda Carlisle Posted November 7, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted November 7, 2014 Yeah, Michael Shannon as crazy, shooting at the TV Elvis hypocritically becoming an anti drugs representative to a crooked president while off his face the whole time really doesn't sound boring at all.
