See @John Matrix took my primary answer with Pop Goes My Heart. Although if you’re going to use anything from Quantum Leap, for me it’s got to be King Thunders masterpiece ;

Also, I think Tongue Tied is overqualified for the thread as Danny released it as a single and actually got to #17. Boys from the Dwarf! 🙌

The Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge team (sans Steve Coogan) spend most of the excellent audio commentary on the DVD lamenting how they didn't merchandise the fuck out of it, including this little number:

When my eldest used to watch Littlest Pet Shop when they were younger, this got stuck in my head for about a year:-

I remember Tony Ferrino very well as a kid and being totally confused, because I hadn’t heard of Steve Coogan or Alan Partridge and when Tony appeared on things like Live & Kicking I was very much not in on the joke and didn’t understand why they had this guy on the show.

I also conflate him with Mike Flowers Pops… except I’m still not sure whether he was meant as a joke or not.

To be fair, he was one of Coogan's least successful characters because he confused too many people anyway - Coogan gave up on him after not too long. He was played a bit too earnestly, which was a problem because the character is such an unpleasant person, so people didn't know what Coogan was aiming for with him.

I remember a rumour reported on radio at the time that there was a family in Portugal that had fallen out with each other because they thought he was real, and one of their relatives; the row was over which side of the family he was on, and neither side were happy with the accusation that this dickhead was from their side.

EDIT: Seems I've remembered wrong again. He got awards for the Tony Ferrino shows, and did a tour, winning awards at Montreaux. But he did discontinue Ferrino after only a couple of years, and has never brought him back, as far as I know.

I thought The Sandman was the nuts after watching Happy Gilmore about 9 times in one week. Then we watched Going Overboard and I thought it was shit. Then we watched Billy Maddison and I thought and still think it’s shit despite all my mates loving it. Then he won me back over with what remains one of by biggest comfort watches.  If only the hit rate would remain as consistent as 1 in 2. In a film with a banging soundtrack this is the one I always go back to. As his mates and collaborators slowly reveal their old man right wing tendencies I just ask Sandler not to be a secret nobhead.

I remembered it so now you have to.

We'll be on the California Dreams and the Five Aces from Saved By The Bell before long.

Anybody posted Sending Our Love Down The Well from The Simpsons yet?

Do Peter Serafinowicz's Beatles parodies from his "Ringo Remembers" segments count?

Might be an unpopular opinion but I prefer this to the Dayman song

Prefer the one he actually sung. "There is a spider-spider-spider..."
