The King of Old School Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Glad they turned Fatu back. Man should never be a face. Danhausen stuff was fine and and a nice relief on the middle of a 5 match card with the 4 serious matches around it. Enjoyed it as a whole, whilst I would like a bit more on a WWE PPV than that it makes it a nice easy Sunday morning watch before getting on with your day. Quote
OzExile Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I really loved Jacob vs Roman. Hope the follow up is good. The rest of the card was quite good, at least compared to the low bar of every PPV since crown jewel. Quote

The joke with Danhausen works better when he’s made to look a bit daft - the light turning on as he runs away, that kinda thing. But Omos coming out with Danhausen face paint would have been a fun way to approach this. As it stands, I can’t imagine they’ll be able to resist the temptation to make Minihausen an ongoing joke, there’s nothing they love more than running things into the ground. Well, aside from mistreating employees. Quote
Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Minihausen to be a new Hornswoggle? I haven't seen the match yet, but is it on a different level or likely to go the same way? Quote
WyattSheepMask Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Seth shitting the bed trying to be Will Osprey is hilarious. I know they had some Twitter beef a few years back and I’d love for Will to start poking fun only for shitarse Seth to make a tit of himself in response Considering the same company held a funeral for The Gingerbread Man complete with AI Slop tribute video the night before, people complaining about the Danhausen stuff is bizarre Edited May 10 by WyattSheepMask Quote
Paid Members Statto Posted May 10 Paid Members Posted May 10 I can't help but wonder if the Cena Classic concept began with a pitch that they put out a tournament bracket and just outwardly tell fans they'll get to vote for who wins the matches when they happen, but someone decided they weren't quite ready to go that far yet. Although having just written that out... in a post-kayfabe world, that might be one of the last ways to try to engender genuine rooting interest in match outcomes, and I'd be very surprised if some uber-smart indy hasn't already done it. They'll probably do a package next year where some mega-rich twat pays $5m to choose who wins the Wrestlemania main event anyway. Quote
Merzbow Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Yeah it was him aka Mascarita Dorada. Lince Dorado has been showing off the mask in detail, I only just learnt that he's a pretty big Lucha mask maker. Edited May 10 by Merzbow Quote
AshC Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Cena concept is silly, if it's a shoot poll, surely everyone is going out to do mad shit to get over. Yet it's surely going to be agented. So... what are we doing? 😂 I remember when Alex Shane wanted to bring in a similar concept over here. There's a reason why it hasn't been done. Undermines the idea of people playing their parts for the overall benefit of the show. Unless, in this case, the parts are still dictated... in which case, what's the point? Are we too old for this? Chili Posted May 10 Posted May 10 It'll probably be an exclusive vote only if you are in Club WWE or something nonsense. Quote

She's still got a lot to give but I don't think there's much left in WWE for her to do. Anywhere would benefit from her as a performer. Quote
Merzbow Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I don't see it, I feel it's more a semi-retirement with her doing her own shows again every now and then. Was surprised to see her stay in WWE for so long as she was *the* rebel on the Joshi circuit. Quote

BarryOVega Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Decent enough show, Rollins looked like a knobhead running back into the ring in the opener with how obvious it was he’d get speared Sami vs Trick was alright, though I did think during it how odd it is that no one at NXT can tell the difference between a good name like Trick Williams and a bad name like the dozens they’ve come up with over the years Danhausen tag match was pretty funny, was hoping for Punk to be his partner but was nice to see Dean Malenko I suppose Sky vs Asuka was decent Cena’s tournament sounds something a bit different if nothing else You’d think Reigns would have enough pull to come up with a finish that doesn’t make him look shit, great head of hair on Jamie Noble though Quote
