Good show.

Extremely noticeable how fewer adverts they ran. Do you think they learnt something from Wrestlemania? Or are B-shows not as attractive/lucrative to advertisers?

How am I supposed to know if Netflix has a Hulk Hogan documentary? Was it even mentioned once?!

Bron vs. Seth was the disastrous mess I expected. Seth’s never had it, and is now washed. Bron has something but it’s not this. Between the Punk match in January and now this, there’s a real sense of Goldberg in 2003 with Bron. Someone tailor built for wild sprints being forced to work the dull, patterned, overlong WWE style. The longer he’s out there, the clumsier he becomes and the less special he feels.

Triple H himself confirmed to be the only person who watches back those Hunter vs. Steiner and Hunter vs. Goldberg matches and thinks they were a success, going the exact right length of time.

I bet Bron is giving Oba Femi a dirty look at every opportunity backstage. Not only has he stolen his spot as resident smash-mouth monster, but he’s seemingly inherited the Brock Lesnar Sprint style of match, too. Man’s taking food off your plate, Bron! Stole your entire run!

All I’ll remember the opener for is Seth’s hilariously bad Ospreay impression. Wildly ironic considering their Twitter spat in 2019 that in 2026 Will Ospreay is working an angle where he’s lost it, despite so obviously still being the most talented and likely best wrestler in the world, yet Seth Rollins is trying to work as the best wrestler in the world, despite having so obviously lost it as a shoot. Funny how things work out. Didn’t Seth troll Will by suggesting they compare bank accounts? Will should suggest they compare them now. Seth’s salary suspiciously halved in recent weeks.

The Danhausen, Miz and Kit Connection continuing to work miracles. Written down, that would have read like absolute shit, but in execution it quickly turned into a charming, fantastic comedy match. Using the mirror to deflect The Curse! Inspired. For what it was, this was five stars.

Probably sacrilege to say it, especially given the post-match, but I though Iyo vs. Asuka was really disappointing. Considering all the talk about how criminal it was that they didn’t put this match on Wrestlemania, this was just okay. I spent the majority of the match wondering if Asuka had peaked as a performer, racking my brains about when she’d last had a truly great match, so it was almost fitting that she went full Aleister Black at the end, doing the big final bow and goodbye wave. Hopefully she doesn’t pop up on social media tomorrow going, “why is everyone acting like I’m leaving? Let me have my privacy. DM me babes.”

Will be interesting to see if this is the end of Asuka’s WWE career. Wonder if it’s based on the recent salary restructuring? I will miss her. At one point you could definitely argue she was the best wrestler in the company, if not the country. Either way though, they’ve missed a trick not doing Asuka vs. Gunther! Book it for Raw, you cowards!

Was John Cena wearing the same suit he wore at Wrestlemania? Funny, if so. Took him so long to finally find a suit that fits that he either refuses to take it off, or can’t.

You’ll never convince me that this was the original announcement Cena was going to make. Couldn’t have felt more obvious that something had fallen through and they had to quickly come up with something else. You could almost hear they the writers making it up as he announced it.

“Some type of NXT vs. Main roster show….?”

IMG_5800.jpeg.071e91aae4eb9838e5f7cb7e6719e850.jpeg

“…introduce a new belt?”

IMG_5800.jpeg.071e91aae4eb9838e5f7cb7e6719e850.jpeg

“..fans can vote for the Champion, even if they lose?”

IMG_5800.jpeg.071e91aae4eb9838e5f7cb7e6719e850.jpeg

“…monkey tennis?”

I guess we’ll see how it works, but considering how much goodwill they’ve flushed away in the last twelve months, doing everything possible to make sure the company itself is seen as the heel, the last thing I’d be doing is letting the fans vote on something. Guaranteed they’ll have fans doing whatever they can to troll them.

”Tweet us who you think should be crowned John Cena Champion!”

“Chris Benoit.”

Fun main event. Still feels weird watching Roman work a B show. Fair play to him, he gave Jacob everything here. Did his very best to make a main event star out of him. I wonder if that was an injury angle at the end of the show, to write Roman out for his month of annual leave.

That’s where the worry sets in.

They’re going to need someone to carry Raw in Roman’s absence.

They’re going to choose Seth, aren’t they?

Saddle poor Jacob with that whopper.

Sooner the graphic pops up, the better. Countdown starts now.

The actual pro wrestling logic of the cloning going wrong twice was consistent, as Alvarez mentioned. It was a logical reason for Danhausen having a troupe of smaller versions of himself. Only thing is... they did it already at WrestleMania with no real reason. 😂 Reckon this is being reconned, or just winging it?

Danhausen is increasingly becoming the only character that makes logical sense in WWE. He’s the only one where it’s half-canon that he’s a creepy drama school weirdo, creating elaborate stunts with the intent of spooking his opponents/becoming a WWE Hall of Famer/making millions of human monies.

Far more believable than being asked to believe that Trick Williams convinced the entire Smackdown roster, announcers and General Manager to troll Sami Zayn, by pretending to be sad about the death of a fancy dress costume.

Or worse, being asked to believe that Seth Rollins hired fifty river-dancing ninjas! Although, in retrospect, at least it makes sense now. He only had enough money to pay them to disguise his escape via the art of dance. To pay them to actually fight his opponents would have cost far too much in the current economic climate. Money’s tight when you willingly take a 50% pay cut!

Amazingly Reigns is booked for every Raw for the rest of the month and the Italy PLE, he goes on two week hiatuses after the Turin Raw on the 1st June, the Baltimore show on the 15th, the Atlantic City one on the 29th (so misses the tapings in London) and the Dallas show on the 13th July
