They were around for two years, and for that entire time not one of them won a title. And they included Tatanka, Bam Bam, and King Kong Bundy, all candidates for this thread. Did The Corre win anything? Because that deserves to be consigned to history as the worst stable ever, and having no belts would be appropriate. Quote

They were involved in one of those classic "opponents win the tag belts" things with Miz & Cena before that Mania were Miz retained the World Title (madness that that's true). Barrett was IC Champ around that time too. Quote
Paid Members Statto Posted January 19 Paid Members Posted January 19 Off the top of my head, I think Big Zeke (who is very much one of my Boys) had the IC Title whilst being in The Corre. Quote

I guess he couldn't have won a belt because of his finisher, as he'd keep winning by count-out. WCW would have found a way around that, if inclined. Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted January 19 Paid Members Posted January 19 Just to add to the Gangrela Effect, I also would have put money on him having the European title at some point and can picture him with it. Quote

I had a similar thought, but the Like is more for "Gangrela Effect", which is superb. (Also sounds like it could have been the name of his finisher.) Quote

Paid Members Statto Posted January 19 Paid Members Posted January 19 Gangrela Effect 100% needs to enter the UKFF lexicon, if not that of the wider wrestling world. Arrows, as we say here. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted January 19 Paid Members Posted January 19 The Nexus Event for Gangrel’s Phantom European Title run appears to be his match against X-Pac at Royal Rumble 1999. According to the big man himself, he was originally pencilled to win. https://www.wrestlinginc.com/1293789/gangrel-wwe-nixed-european-title-reign "I know for a fact that I was supposed to win the title that night," Gangrel told "The Ten Count." "But there were some disciplinary actions. I was innocent, but I got caught in the middle of some stuff. There was a big scandal where somebody, a backstage guy, was taping people trying to sell him a bunch of steroids. It was this big thing. Everybody had to get disciplined. I happened to be one of the guys in there, even though I didn't do anything and whatnot, but I just got caught up in all that." Gangrel then admitted he "got caught up in the wrong group," before reiterating that he was "innocent" and therefore "cleared" by WWE management. However, the incident still cost him championship gold. Despite being disciplined for a violation that he wasn't guilty of, Gangrel doesn't feel any animosity towards WWE, and believes he should have been more cognizant of the people he met and greeted with. In the past, several other wrestlers were sent to the proverbial doghouse for actions that were deemed unbecoming of a WWE superstar. As an example, Triple H was in line to win the 1996 King of the Ring until his involvement in the "Curtain Call" led to him being demoted to the bottom of the card. This was also the match where referee Teddy Long completely botched the finish, originally counting to three when Gangrel reversed an X-pac crossbody, only to immediately pretend like it never happened, with X-pac winning shortly afterwards. Maybe Teddy wasn’t clued up. “You didn’t tell me the finish had changed, Playah! Now you must go one on one with The Undertaker!” Further evidence that this was supposed to be Gangrel’s big night was the fact that he seemingly had friends, family or superfans in the front row. Look at them jamming to his entrance theme! The Brood Bounce! Quote
The Reverend Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Not really knowing where he would have fitted in with the singles titles in the WWF, but surprised that he never got at least a tag belt run, is Koko B.Ware - he was there a fair few years in the 80's and 90's. I often wonder if perhaps they need a third singles title, ala the TV title on the other side, in the late 80's and 90's - they definitely had the roster for it back then. Quote

I don't think too much differently than it was - possibly a stint with the IC title around 83/84 but that's about it. TBF I don't think that the Nancy situation even derailed him. Come 84/85 he was still one of the main babyfaces, was one of the original 5 to get an action figure, appeared on loads of merchandise and was even a main character in the kid's cartoon Rock 'n' Wrestling. Shocking really now, but back then the industry, and the world, was very different. No internet meant that the reporting of the situation was confined to newspapers really. Didn't Vince also splash the cash to keep it fairly quiet? Quote

He did hold belts in WCW, New Japan and ECW though. So not a Bobby no belts. The Bushwhackers? In WWF for quite a long time and won nothing, nothing in Japan either. I think they did okay in territories but no big titles. Warlord. I thought he was pretty scary and massive as a kid but he won nothing across his time in NWA and WWF. His tag partner Barbarian was equally as unsuccessful. A more modern one, Emma/Tenile Dashwood. Won nothing in WWE (FCW, NXT or main) or in TNA. Even Alisha Fox and Tamins Snuka have had reigns so pretty surprising. Quote
