I want to watch The Osbournes again but I don't know are my ready to face how much Jack Osbourne reminds me of myself as an edgelord teen. I explicitly recall an episode where he takes immense pride in blasting Meshuggah out the window because the neighbours were playing girly rave music. 

"Don't you touch my chicken" still gets channelled every single time a pet of any description down through the years has encroached on a dinner being cooked.

It's not so much Jack and Kelly that are the issue watching back (although they are brats of course) it's the majority of their friends that are nobheads (obviously not Elijah Wood or lovely Mandy Moore)

One episode where they all go to Hawaii and Jacks cunt mates tag along, wound me up so much. I was hoping one of Ozzys management would smack them up.

There is an Ozzy documentary coming out later this year. They have been following him for the last couple of years as he's been dealing with various health issues in the run up to Back to the Beginning. 

I assume it was originally supposed to climax with his triumphant return to the stage. That'll still be there of course but with the stark "Ozzy Osbourne passed away 17 days later" ending.

That could be a tough watch.

For anyone that's interested, there will be a funeral procession for Ozzy through Birmingham tomorrow. From around 1ish the hearse will go down Broad Street and up to the Black Sabbath bridge and the bench. I was going to pop in the the office today in part so I could visit the bridge but I'm not feeling well so had rescheduled for tomorrow before this was announced. I'm guessing it will be far too busy to go tomorrow. For anyone that's in the city centre for other reasons, roads will be closed and the trams and buses are being re-routed.

I caught the procession on TV. Very tastefully done and sad to see the family cut up about the tributes. The brass band did well to keep the mood light but there was one woman with a megaphone who ruined the atmosphere.

I don't know why Sharon gets the flak she does. It might be deserved, I don't know. Rough as fuck watching her wailing her way through Brum though.

I always felt a lot of the reason Sharon got as much hate as she does is because she conducts business like a man, but is a woman. And that she 'controls' Ozzy with her mystical womanly charms. I dislike her because she is a Zionist. She is obviously destroyed by losing Ozzy, it was hard to see the whole family in mourning but particularly Sharon. She looked very fragile

There's a number of reasons, with one of the main ones being how she fucked a number of musicians over writing and recording royalties (Bob Daisley, Jake E Lee, Lee Kerslake, etc.). Much like her father, Don Arden, she was ruthlessly ambitious and wouldn't hesitate to play dirty. 

Reinvented herself as a TV personality, hoping that people would forget that she used to like to drink as much as Ozzy, and would happily headbutt anyone that pissed her off. There's an interview out there where she talks about the time Ozzy punched her teeth out. The interviewer is shocked at how she stayed with Ozzy after this, until Sharon casually points that Ozzy was only responding to her smashing a bottle over his head.

Iron Maiden fans give her flak because of the whole egg-fest thing.

Not gonna take sides as ICP are kinda dickheads here but they had legitimate reasons to dislike her, I'm not sure how much was a bit of a work though..

Don't forget her telling this story on national TV like it was a totally normal thing someone would do and also thinking other people would also find it as hilarious as she did.

I had to double check that this was a real thing she did and I hadn't dreamt she'd told this story.

As @Surf Digby mentioned, she messed a lot of people around over royalties, but for me it was how she just seemed to keep pushing Ozzy into doing another album time and time again which obviously came with a tour for said album. I don’t doubt that Ozzy still enjoyed creating music, but he’d been done as a live act for years. He could’ve packed it in years ago and lived quite comfortably, but Sharon just kept pushing him out there over & over

I think in his later years, Ozzy needed to be out there to some degree. Once we hit the 2000s he was in that state where he was shuffling around and trembling, but as soon as he walked on stage, there was a visible change in his posture and energy, and then he'd be back to knackered old John within ten minutes of him coming off stage. Like a lot of old wrestlers, really (or Gene Wilder's last dive into his pool, if you're familiar with that story).

In the 80s there were many times where he was touring when he really wasn't in a fit state to be performing, but pushing him out there instead of into rehab took priority. 

Six days after Randy died, he was on TV promoting the next week's show.

Been watching The Osbournes and in the first series he’s fed up of touring and saying he can’t do two nights in a row. He’s having a go at Sharon for booking these shows. It was obvious he loved when on the stage but he was completely fucked with it by 2002.

Also, I get that could all be for show for the cameras, but Ozzy isn’t an actor. He seemed legit that he had enough of it.

100% this.  Every interview with Ozzy in recent years was him talking about being desperate to get back on the road, and I have no doubts it would have been the same if Sharon had "let" him retire 20 years ago.  He wasn't built for retirement and Sharon more than anyone would have known that.

I can't believe I'm about to defend Sharon Osbourne but here I go. This narrative that Sharon forced Ozzy to perform really pisses me off. I know he was vulnerable but he was hardly Britney Spears under a conservatorship. If he didn't want to perform, he wouldn't have got on stage, he was having a whale of a time up there.  I remember reading an interview when Sabbath did their retirement tour years ago where Ozzy said it was definitely the final tour for Sabbath but not for him, and how his previous retirement solo tour had been a big mistake because he hadn't thought about what he would do with all that spare time on his hands and subsequently it took him to a very dark place. He said he would continue to tour and make music as long as he physically could because being idle was not for him.
