The little lad needed help, It was nice to see HBK help him One of my favourite moments of that match, that and the sportsmanship from Austin to hold the ropes for Shawn to return to the ring and continue Quote
BarryOVega Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 Thought it’d be fun watching the In Your Houses from the start seeing as I couldn’t watch them in 95/96 and it’s never struck me to bother watching them on the network/Netflix til now weird seeing matches end without a load of finishers, Diesel beating Sid with a shite big boot in the lumberjack match being a stand out some weird results booking wise as well, Razor and Jannetty beating Sid and Kid in the heels first big ppv tag match was a choice, would’ve thought Sid powerbomb on Jannetty was the obvious finish nice being reminded how unpolished everything used to be despite the high production values, I don’t mind WWE nowadays but it’s a completely different product compared to this Quote
kidzero Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 Man I have always had a soft spot for in your house 2 ...shawn vs Jarrett I had the vhs years ago I think there was dark match on the tape if I recall Bret vs jean Pierre or was that on the main show Quote

If that’s not a euphemism for something then I don’t know what is. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted November 14, 2025 Author Members Posted November 14, 2025 Nothing new, but Michaels vs Mankind from Mind Games is absolutely excellent. A brutal, brutal match full of sick looking (and sounding) bumps which only has one bum note. Early on it looks like Mankind is refusing to take an Irish Whip, then Michaels goes to the opposite corner and sets up for a reverse crossbody from Brets rope and old Mick hasn't followed him. A visibly pissed off Michaels goes back to the original corner and does say something. Dunno what happened there, but Shawn was fairly right to be annoyed. Anyway cracking match, the roof comes off the gaff when Taker appears out of the casket. Extremely good shit. Next up the Final Four match, waheeeeeeeey! Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted November 14, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 14, 2025 (edited) Shawn claimed in his shoot interview way back that that was planned between him and Foley, to play off the little hissy fit he had in the Vader match at SummerSlam the month before. To get the dirt sheets talking or whatever. For whatever that’s worth because he seemed full of shit for a lot of that interview from what I recall. Chewing and spitting his manky tobacco the whole time. Can’t remember if Foley confirmed it in his books or interviews but that was Shawn’s version. Edited November 14, 2025 by wandshogun09 Quote
davertfnewman Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 That "botch" was actually something Foley suggested based on the Vader match to make it look real. Quote

Then he started spitting it out in his little cup. For this alone I can see why Bret wanted to rip his throat out every time he saw him for a while. Quote

Yes, Foley confirmed this was a work in his first book. Quote

Shawn and Mick did a retrospective of the match together on the Edge and Christian podcast and Mick confirmed it was a work and his idea. Quote
BarryOVega Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 Would love to see them try and pull off something as subtle as that nowadays, it’d probably be accompanied by a shot of Hunter and Heyman with their heads in their hands mouthing ‘THEY BOTCHED THE SPOT’ Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted November 15, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 15, 2025 Or Shawn would be in front of the hard cam loudly saying to Mick, “THAT WASN’T IN THE SCRIPT, NIMROD!” Quote
