Does MJF cost the Hurt Business the tag titles and the Learning Tree then turn on their no title leader if he loses? Or is Bandido secretly a snack under the mask and Tony has found he's much more marketable with his face on show? All this and more. On Dynasty. Having had the priviledge of working with Bandido at a promotion here in Aus, he is indeed a disgustingly good looking bloke (and a nice fella to boot). Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted April 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 6, 2025 Happy Swerve Strickland Day everyone. He’s definitely winning. Help coming from either Hangman, Kingston or Danielson. But he’s winning. He’ll be Champion this time tomorrow. They wouldn’t close another pay per view with that same crushing sense of disappointment. Would they? Quote

I’m starting to think the redemption we’ll see won’t just be Hangman’s - it’ll also be Swerve’s. I expect Hangman to go out to prevent a Swerve win, only to instinctively save him when Moxley goes too far. Then I expect Swerve to save Hangman in a more deliberate way on Dynamite or Double or Nothing - probably from the non-Moxley Death Riders, and possibly even leading to them teaming up at All In. Swerve turned babyface without ever atoning for his past - I think that not only has to happen, I think it will happen. Quote

Paid Members Supremo Posted April 6, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 6, 2025 (edited) My greatest fear is that they think there’s enough juice in Hangman and Swerve that they’re going to use it to keep the belt on Moxley. After Wednesday’s, “I Know!” I can imagine a babyface Hangman returning, old music, clean shaven, attempting to hit Moxley with the Buckshot, but accidentally hitting Swerve, costing him the match. They will truly Fight Forever. Don't make me choose. I love Swerve and Hangman’s Never-ending Story, but get that belt off Mox once and for all. There is nothing and no-one that can benefit from him keeping it any longer. Even Mox himself. Go away, repackage yourself, come back actually cool again rather than mooching about like the burglar from The Sims. Live shot of Moxley escaping with the belt in the briefcase as the credits roll tonight. Edited April 6, 2025 by Supremo Quote
The King Of Swing Posted April 6, 2025 Posted April 6, 2025 After losing the belt, Mox should bugger off until Eddie is fit. Then rekindle their friendship and go for the tag belts. Quote

BrodyGraham Posted April 6, 2025 Posted April 6, 2025 I'm at work at 10 and I'm still gonna watch at least half of this show. I'm a fool to myself. It's got the look of a proper 100 year long AEW PPV as well. Hope it's a good one. Quote
Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 (edited) Just read the spoilers..... What the actual fuck was that finish all about? Made no sense at all Spoiler Unless of course the Elite are getting back together to stop Swerve and Death Riders and promote Hangman to the title Edited April 7, 2025 by Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Quote
abucalves Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 Online reaction has been horrible, from AEW fans as well. A real "what is the point?" feeling Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 7, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 7, 2025 Well that's the real shot in the arm that the Death Riders angle needed. Actually it would have been better if Moxley shot someone in the arm. Also imagine that an 18 minute Chris Jericho match is what people want to see in 2025, with a Dusty finish to boot. On the positive side though, Toni Storm again shows why she is the ace of AEW. I thought the Triple Threat was decent though I'm not sure it needed half an hour. A nice tease at the end, hopefully we get to see Okada earn his paycheck. I also enjoyed Fletcher v Briscoe. The rest won't live in the memory Quote

RedTwoster Posted April 7, 2025 Posted April 7, 2025 (edited) That was a really disappointing show. I thought the triple threat was great, and will likely be the best match I see this month. I agree with @Lion_of_the_Midlands though, I’m not sure it needed half-an-hour, and the whole show could have done with some fat being trimmed. The Owen matches were pretty much all enjoyable, although Mone/Hart was on the weaker end of Mercedes matches, I thought. Still decent, but a step below what she’s been doing. I really enjoyed Storm/Bayne, and Toni’s post-show presser appearance is well worth watching if you’ve not seen it. She opens with a limerick, and that’s all I’ll say, other than watch it! The main event was such a let down, and if that was the plan, they were as well to finish with the triple threat or the Storm match. No progress with the Swerve/Hangman story, no satisfying outcome, a finish that didn’t feel like it made much sense - it ended the show on a real downer and it felt like they utterly squandered the momentum they had. They can of course regain it, it’s one disappointing show at the end of the day, but running this show at this time was a poor decision. EDIT: Here’s Storm’s limerick, for those interested.
