RedTwoster Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 (edited) Favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? This is a tough one…it’s probably a three-way tie between Bryan Danielson, Eddie Guerrero and Shawn Michaels. Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? The honest answer to this is Chris Benoit, for obvious reasons; but I’m not sure that’s in the spirit of the question. With that in mind, I’ll say Kane. He’s not the worst wrestler in the world, but almost everything he’s been involved in as a singles star felt so tedious to me. Plus he’s a right wing nut job, so there’s that too. Favourite ever match(es)? Brock Lesnar vs Eddie Guerrero is up there, as are Hangman Page/Kenny Omega vs The Young Bucks, Cena/Punk (MITB) and Roman/Cody from this year’s Wrestlemania. It’s hard to pick a definitive favourite, though. Shittest match you've ever seen? Triple H vs Vladimir Kozlov at Survivor Series 2008. It got better - and actually quite exciting - when Edge got involved, but my god it was rough before that. Favourite ever card/event(s)? Summerslam 2002, Money in the Bank 2011, Wrestlemania 30, All Out 2021, Full Gear 2021 Favourite ever pro-wrestling promotion(s)? I’m not sure I have one. Favourite ever period in above promotion's history? I’ll still answer this, though. Smackdown in 2002-early 2004 has a fond place in my heart as it’s how I first started watching wrestling, but AEW in 2020 and 2021 and WWE in 2023 and 2024 has probably surpassed that. Favourite ever tag-team(s)? The Young Bucks - I’ve probably enjoyed more of their matches than any other tag team. Favourite ever pro-wrestling media (magazine/web site/podcast/YT channel)? Wrestle Me! If you could delete any moment from pro-wrestling history, what would it be? I mean, it would probably be one of the murders, but keeping it light, the death of WCW. I’d be curious to see what would have become of the wrestling industry had it stayed around. Present... Current favourite pro-wrestler(s)? Toni Storm. She’s endlessly entertaining. Sami Zayn is a close runner-up. EDIT: I somehow forgot about Hangman Page here! Him too, but not ahead of Storm. Maybe ahead of Sami, though. It’s close. Current least favourite pro-wrestler(s)? The Undisputed Kingdom. Even writing that name makes me angry. Fuck off, all of you. Current favourite pro-wrestling promotion(s)? I think I’d have to be more specific than ‘a promotion’ - it’s the AEW women’s division. I definitely prefer the WWE men’s division to AEW’s right now; but the women’s division in AEW is, for me, the best thing in wrestling at the moment. Current favourite tag-team(s)? It’s still The Young Bucks! Who are you most excited to see ascend to main event status? Sami Zayn - one of the big moments I want to see happen is Zayn’s first World title win. I know I’ll get goosebumps. But he’s no stranger to main events to be fair, so I’ll also say Bron Breakker, Jacob Fatu, Stephanie Vaquer and Takeshita How much wrestling do you watch on a weekly basis? And how much is current stuff? I watch Raw, Smackdown and Dynamite every week, and Collision has been on my watchlist recently since it’s been good. I occasionally watch NXT too, but that’s not a weekly thing. What's on your pro-wrestling bucket list? To attend a Wrestlemania and All In, in London. I’ve not been to a major wrestling live show, so I want to go big on this one! Edited February 24, 2025 by RedTwoster Quote
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted February 24, 2025 Awards Moderator Posted February 24, 2025 (edited) Past... Favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? It had been The Undertaker for so long, but I'm not comfortable with that anymore. Mick Foley had been my second favourite, but ... no thanks? That probably leaves Shawn Michaels I guess? Or PAC maybe. Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? Excluding the murderers and criminals. It's JBL. The combination of his too-rapid rise from nobody to longest-reigning WWE Champion in years with his WWE.com Fox News lite blogs made him forever repulsive. Favourite ever match(es)? TLCII, the 1992 Royal Rumble, RVD vs. Jerry Lynn at Living Dangerously, Shawn and HHH at Summerslam 02, Savage/Warrior at WrestleMania VII. Shittest match you've ever seen? Let's say the DX vs Brothers of Destruction Saudi Shitshow match. Or Adam Cole vs. Kyle O'Reilly in the Eternal 2 Out Of 3 Falls match from, I don't remember when in NXT but I do remember it was so off-puttingly bad I've never watched NXT since. Favourite ever card/event(s)? WrestleMania X-Seven, obviously. Summerslam 2002. Survivor Series 2002. NXT Takeover Dallas or London or Brooklyn, one of them. AEW's probably had some crackers but they blend together for me more now. Favourite ever pro-wrestling promotion(s)? It's changed! Obviously WWF/E was the favourite for a long time. TNA dropped in for a bit around 2005, followed by ROH until whenever Seth Rollins and his lads showed up. NXT black and gold was the last hurrah for years, before AEW got me back into loving and regularly watching wrestling again. Favourite ever period in above promotion's history? Early 2000s SmackDown is a sweet spot. TNA during that weird time they weren't actually on TV but were putting out their best ever PPVs. NXT 2015-whenever the Ciampa/Gargano feud went on far too long. AEW - honestly, it's probably during the pandemic up until Hangman won the belt. Favourite ever tag-team(s)? Hasbro sentimentality is shouting "Bushwhackers!" at me but it's not them. They're a trio, but I hope The Shield count. I did love when AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels became a proper tag team for a bit, though. Favourite live show you attended? I've enjoyed most of them! Both All In Londons were great. NXT on their UK tour when you had Samoa Joe, Sami Zayn, PAC, American Alpha, etc on the card. Dan Fitch's first MEW show back in 2005. And my first live wrestling show, a SmackDown house show in 2004 headlined by Eddie Guerrero vs Big Show. Favourite ever piece of merch (whether you owned it or not)? My Matt Hardy V1 t-shirt actually got worn in public occasionally. But it's probably the blue ring for the Hasbros, or that Ultimate Warrior colouring book I always bring up! Wait, do games count? SmackDowns 1-5! Favourite ever pro-wrestling media (magazine/web site/podcast/YT channel)? The original format of Squared Circle Gazette, and WrestleMe, kept my fandom going at times when I wasn't really watching anything. But if websites count - I bloody love a roster page on a promotion's website. I just like looking at who everyone is! Oh, and The Wrestling Channel how could I forget The Wrestling Channel, which not only introduced me to others worlds of wrestling but led me to their forums and from there to here. If you could delete any moment from pro-wrestling history, what would it be? If we're not counting the murders, and the other crimes, and the super obvious like the death of Owen Hart, I'm going with Brawl Out in 2022. I'm still not sure AEW's fully got back to its best after that all happened. Present... Current favourite pro-wrestler(s)? It's probably someone from the AEW women's division - I'd say Timeless Toni Storm, Willow Nightingale, or possibly Julia Hart. On the men's side, ever since All In, I get a bit excited every time Will Ospreay's music hits. And Hangman Page is more often than not the highlight of any show he appears on. Current least favourite pro-wrestler(s)? It's obviously the fucking Death Riders. Even if it's better now than it was, they still kill all interest in everyone they encounter for me. I even find PAC boring now because of the association, and I've loved the guy for 20 years. Current favourite pro-wrestling promotion(s)? I've tried WWE a few times since the Netflix thing started. It's confirmed that I 100% prefer AEW. Current favourite tag-team(s)? Probably the Hounds Of Hell. I love that Motor City Machine Guns finally made it to WWE, but they've not exactly set the place alight. Who are you most excited to see ascend to main event status? (Not Marty Jannetty) If I had any confidence it'd happen, I'd say Willow because she should be a main eventer. It's possibly Will Ospreay, actually - he's one of their biggest stars, obviously but he's rarely the main event, and he's not been near the AEW Title yet. How much wrestling do you watch on a weekly basis? And how much is current stuff? Dynamite and Collision, so four hours. If I have spare time, I might skim through Raw/SmackDown on Netflix. It's mostly current stuff, except in January when I make a point to watch old Royal Rumbles. Next live show you are planning to attend? Next time AEW do a big show (Forbidden Door doesn't count), or a show closer to me than London. What's on your pro-wrestling bucket list? I'm not really sure! The All Ins kind of gave me everything I could have hoped for from a live perspective. Seeing a Royal Rumble live would be cool, but even then, we got the Casino Gauntlet which scratched that itch. A remastered version of WWE All Stars it is, then! Edited February 25, 2025 by HarmonicGenerator T Dubya C! Quote

Cannibal Man Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 Past (going way back for the past stuff) Favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? The Ultimate Warrior or Sid Justice as a very young kid, probably Austin, Vampiro and Sandman when I got a bit older Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? hated Nikolai Volkoff and Greg Valentine because on the Rumble '92 tape they both looked like no hope old men Favourite ever match(es)? HHH/Rock from Summerslam 98, Rock/Mankind from Royal Rumble '99, HBK/Mankind from Mind Games, Steve Corino/Jerry Lynn from Heatwave 2000 Shittest match you've ever seen? tough one because I don't remember thinking about stuff this way as a kid but I honestly hated Warrior/Savage from Summerslam '92 because it went on for what felt like forever and Warrior had on that ugly muscle suit which made me feel like he'd properly let me down personally because he didn't look like his figure Favourite ever card/event(s)? Summerslam 1998, Royal Rumble 2000 or Heatwave 2000 Favourite ever pro-wrestling promotion(s)? WWF til around 1999 then ECW Favourite ever period in above promotion's history? WWF - Mankind's debut til around No Way Out 2001, ECW - 1995 til 2000 minus basically anything Shane Douglas Favourite ever tag-team(s)? loved New Foundation again because of the Rumble 92 tape, liked The Headbangers for a bit and The Brood Favourite live show you attended? never saw any of the big lads and stuck to Rhyl tribute shows Favourite ever piece of merch (whether you owned it or not)? never owned any non-figure merch either but the answer is the DX 69 SUCK IT football jersey which i'm really glad I never ever bought now, maybe the old Sandman 'Budweiser' shirt Favourite ever pro-wrestling media (magazine/web site/podcast/YT channel)? it was Power Slam only If you could delete any moment from pro-wrestling history, what would it be? Owen breaking Austin's neck at Summerslam 97 Present... (anything after the above and since!) Current favourite pro-wrestler(s)? Gunther, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Kenny Omega, maybe Super Dragon if I go back a bit, Mecha Mummy for the serious but not quite as serious choice, Daniel Garcia, Willow Nightingale, Toni Storm, Kevin Blackwood, Puma King Current least favourite pro-wrestler(s)? not a regular viewer so this is on the small amounts i've seen but I can't handle the Usos, Cody, Finn Balor, Orton, Braun Strowman, LA Knight, Nia Jax, Damian Priest, the Wyatt Six shite, Gargano and his bald mate, the Viking tossers, sick of seeing Paul Heyman now Current favourite pro-wrestling promotion(s)? nothings quite hit the way PWG used to so them, there's a load of luchadors and other blokes I feel like I barely see any more since they got hoovered up by AEW and WWE and I miss that a lot, but then probably DDT Current favourite tag-team(s)? still quite into MCMG Who do are you most excited to see ascend to main event status? i'd like Sami Zayn to go up a level How much wrestling do you watch on a weekly basis? And how much is current stuff? i'll watch WWE and AEW based on what the reports say is good or what I feel might be quite good, otherwise I spend about two hours every other night watching a backlog of older Japanese indy stuff, old territory stuff and 2000s indies Next live show you are planning to attend? probably Atomic in April What's on your pro-wrestling bucket list? it'd be nice to head to Japan and avoid the Toudoukan/Buyee shipping fees and have a watch of DDT and 666, and in particular some of the DDT street wrestling stuff Quote
Dr. Alan Grant Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 (edited) My answers are very WWE heavy I’m afraid. Past... Favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? From the late 80s to early 90s, it was Ultimate Warrior. Then I moved onto The Undertaker going into the Attitude era. For a long time after I didn’t really have a favourite. Austin was probably the closest I had. I stopped watching wrestling entirely somewhere between the deaths of Eddie and Benoit, and only came back for whichever WrestleMania had the first Rock/Cena match. When the Network came along, I binged every PPV I could and it became apparent that Bret Hart is, perhaps always was, and most likely always will be my favourite. Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? Dino Bravo and Ronnie Garvin for that hideous 7 hour submission match they had. Boring twats. I absolutely despise Santino as well. I can’t not mention The Miz, Dolph Ziggler and Nikolai Volkoff too. Favourite ever match(es)? Bret Hart/Steve Austin from WrestleMania 13. Perfection. Bret Hart/Rowdy Roddy Piper from WrestleMania VIII and the Macho Man/Ultimate Warrior retirement match are ones I can watch over and over again and never stop loving them. Shittest match you've ever seen? I tend to forget the shit matches. A great match stays with me, the shit ones are cast aside. But Dino Bravo and Ronnie Garvin’s 12 hour submission match is coma inducing. Favourite ever card/event(s)? WrestleMania 17 is an automatic response to this question. But I do love Royal Rumble 2000 and WrestleMania X, even if there are a few duds on each. All very easy watches. Favourite ever pro-wrestling promotion(s)? WWF/WWE. The only others I’ve watched are AEW, a very small amount of NWA/WCW (soon to be corrected if it ends up on Netflix) and TNA during the interminable Aces & Eights era. Favourite ever period in above promotion's history? Late 80s going into the early 90s. Hogan, Savage, Flair, Warrior, Demolition, Powers Of Pain, Andre The Giant. The Hasbro years. Colourful, HUGE characters. Favourite ever tag-team(s)? Demolition, Legion Of Doom and the Steiner Brothers. The only thing missing from the Steiners is some facepaint. Favourite live show you attended? I’ve only been to a handful. A few house shows in the 90s, TakeOver Cardiff (where I got to see Rhea Ripley, happy days) and Clash At The Castle also in Cardiff. Clash was a blast, Tyson Fury sing-song aside. Being able to see Rey, Edge and Roman live was awesome. Favourite ever piece of merch (whether you owned it or not)? If action figures count, the Yokozuna Hasbro. If not, I always liked the adverts in WWF Magazine for t-shirts that always, ALWAYS had the wrestler’s name as a logo. If I was Triple H, the first thing I’d do is give everyone on the roster a distinct logo. A classic Hot Rod shirt is one I would happily wear. Favourite ever pro-wrestling media (magazine/web site/podcast/YT channel)? Wrestle Me and this place. The amount of time I’ve saved by not having to watch a particular show because I can read a lengthy review from one of the regulars here is a gift from god. If you could delete any moment from pro-wrestling history, what would it be? Bret Hart being kicked by Bill Goldberg. He had years left in him. Could have gone back to WWE and had runs with The Rock, Austin again, Foley, Triple H, Lesnar. Present... Current favourite pro-wrestler(s)? Rhea Ripley. She’s one of a handful of people I will never fast forward. A total star. Honourable mentions to Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Pac, Bron Breakker (still a shit name) and Chelsea Green. Current least favourite pro-wrestler(s)? A tie between Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. Giving Dino and Ronnie a run for their money in the boring twat category. I smell a 18 hour submission match in their future. Current favourite pro-wrestling promotion(s)? For its first few years, AEW was my preference. My interest in it at the minute is at an all time low. Whereas WWE has improved drastically and is by far my current favourite. Current favourite tag-team(s)? This is the first time in a long time where there isn’t a single tag team on either of the main companies that I give a shit about. Tag team wrestling is in its death throes at the moment for me. Who do are you most excited to see ascend to main event status? (Not Marty Jannetty) A sustained main event run for Willow Nightingale. Eddie Kingston if and when he comes back. Bron Breakker and Dominik Mysterio will hopefully skyrocket to the top in the next few years too. How much wrestling do you watch on a weekly basis? And how much is current stuff? I watch Raw and Smackdown. I’m currently on a Royal Rumble marathon. My AEW watching is limited to fast forwarding Collision and Dynamite on ITV4 until I see Harley Cameron. I haven’t even watched the previous 3 AEW PPVs at all. I much prefer checking out older PPVs on Netflix. The sooner the WCW back catalogue ends up on there the happier I’ll be. Next live show you are planning to attend? Nothing, unless Mania comes to the UK. What's on your pro-wrestling bucket list? I’d possibly die if I met Rhea Ripley in person. Failing that, to see a Rumble live would be fun. Edit: after seeing Rooster mention her above, I have to say Stephanie Vacquer too. Stick her in one of the categories above. Future main eventer, current favourite, take your pick. She’s class. Edited February 24, 2025 by Dr. Alan Grant Stephy Vac. Quote
Paid Members Jesse Posted February 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 24, 2025 (edited) Past... Favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? Stone Cold Steve Austin. He's my Hogan, meaning the guy who was huge and captured my imagination at the right time as a kid. Soemthing about him, even now, just feels different. Like he's something other than human. Superstar Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? Bret Hart. Just kidding, but it's probably CM Punk. Never liked him, even in my indy wank ROH DVD's days and he was all over things I would love or try to love (ROH, WWE's ECW reboot, WWE at times, AEW etc.) Hate to see him on a card unless I'm bursting for a piss. Favourite ever match(es)? Marufuji vs KENTA from 29/10/2006 in NOAH. I used to load this up on my phone to watch on work breaks when I needed a lift. Just fucking rules. For a modern one, the Page/Strickland PPV series are ones I can go back to whenever. Shittest match you've ever seen? I worked in and around Britwres for years, the competition is too strong Favourite ever card/event(s)? Don't know if I have any in specific, I probably did (Wrestlemania X7 as a kid) but most of my early fandom when my love was at its strongest was broken up into finding individual matches out of context of the card. Favourite ever pro-wrestling promotion(s)? NOAH Favourite ever period in above promotion's history? The Golden Years (post-AJPW exodus up to Misawa's death) Favourite ever tag-team(s)? The Hardy Boyz. Obviously I don't care for how they ended up but they were my way into wrestling and still nothing hits the same way as seeing Jeff Hardy do some mad shit when I was a teenager. Favourite live show you attended? FutureShock's 5th Anniversary if working one counts. One of the banger PROGRESS shows at the height of their popularity when even my wife was into it otherwise Favourite ever piece of merch (whether you owned it or not)? God, no idea. Wrestling merch is dogshit. Mariah May signed 8x10 Favourite ever pro-wrestling media (magazine/web site/podcast/YT channel)? Botchamania still gets me sometimes, don't pay attention to much else If you could delete any moment from pro-wrestling history, what would it be? Misawa's death probably, had such an impact on the scene I was super into, though hard to know what the scene would look like if that hadn't happened. Maybe Eddie Guerrero's death, would love to see him havign an AEW career resurgence like Edge is right now. Present... Current favourite pro-wrestler(s)? Hangman Adam Page, the only guy still making me want to see what he's up to every week. Current least favourite pro-wrestler(s)? Chris Jericho. We all know why Current favourite pro-wrestling promotion(s)? It's AEW. Still let me down all the time and I rarely catch a full show but they're the only ones even doing the things I care about in pro wrestling even half the time. Current favourite tag-team(s)? Are The Conglomeration still together? If not, then The Outrunners Who are you most excited to see ascend to main event status? (Not Marty Jannetty) Swerve Strickland doesn't count since he held the big belt, but he should be up there every week. I'll go for Takeshita, just a beast. How much wrestling do you watch on a weekly basis? And how much is current stuff? None, unless you include gifs on social media. Next live show you are planning to attend? Not planning any, maybe a local one eventually What's on your pro-wrestling bucket list? I think I'm done on this, the game's gone and it's never gonna be what I want it to be again in either the US or UK. Edited February 24, 2025 by Jesse Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted February 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 24, 2025 Past... Favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? Bret Hart was my first favourite and has remained as such to this day. Love the structure and psychology of his matches and I wish there was a lot more of it today. Loved Razor Ramon, too, and became a big fan of Barry Windham when I eventually got to see some WCW. Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? IRS just bored the absolute shit out of me regardless of what gimmick or storyline he was in. And I know he's still active, but I detest Jack Evans and everything he stands for. Favourite ever match(es)? Razor Ramon vs The Kid, Monday Night Raw, May 17th 1993 - Watched out of context, it's still the best example of an upset I've ever seen. Everything is perfect about it - the execution of everything, the total lack of a hint of what was coming, the crowd reactions during and after the match, Finkel's announcement. 2 and a half minutes. Raven vs Goldberg, Monday Nitro, April 20th 1998 - Perfect execution of the right result at exactly the right time. The commentary and crowd were absolutely brilliant, and the bit where the 'fans' threw Raven back was superb. Jushin Thunder Liger vs Flyin' Brian, Superbrawl II, February 29th 1992 - Almost the perfect wrestling match. Everything in the right place. Two of the greatest at the height of their powers, perfectly complimenting each other. Shittest match you've ever seen? I don't tend to remember the shittest matches as well as the best ones, so I don't know. Probably something with Hogan in WCW or The Young Bucks. Favourite ever card/event(s)? I never remember what events stuff takes place at. Can I pick a bunch of the early Clash of Champions? Just love those, even when the matches were shit. Favourite ever pro-wrestling promotion(s)? WWE, it's just the one I've always preferred. Favourite ever period in above promotion's history? When Bret started to turn heel and then did. Favourite ever tag-team(s)? When the Steiner Brothers came to WWF, I'd never seen anything like them. They're easily my favourite team of all time, just bruising fighters who could do spots and sell well. The best of all time. Love The Midnight Express and Tully & Arn too. Favourite live show you attended? Never been. Favourite ever piece of merch (whether you owned it or not)? Never had any. Favourite ever pro-wrestling media (magazine/web site/podcast/YT channel)? Here! If you could delete any moment from pro-wrestling history, what would it be? Shane McMahon on Monday Nitro. From that moment on, the invasion was doomed. Present... Current favourite pro-wrestler(s)? It's CM Punk although I've liked him for a long time, since his ROH days. Just seemed different from as soon as I saw him and still stands out today as someone who wants the best out of wrestling. Current least favourite pro-wrestler(s)? Jon Moxley. There's absolutely nothing about him that I find slightly appealing or good, easily one of the worst wrestlers I've ever seen on any level. Can't do anything convincingly, has the worst instincts, awful cod tough guy promos. The Death Riders is one of the worst angles / stables of all time. Not a fan tbh! Current favourite pro-wrestling promotion(s)? WWE. Current favourite tag-team(s)? There are no tag teams. Who do are you most excited to see ascend to main event status? (Not Marty Jannetty) Stephanie Vaquer has got everything she needs to ascend to that position in WWE. I hope it's her. How much wrestling do you watch on a weekly basis? And how much is current stuff? Raw and Smackdown, the few tolerable bits of AEW, the odd old PPV. Next live show you are planning to attend? None. What's on your pro-wrestling bucket list? To stop watching wrestling. Quote

MVP RULZ Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 Past... Favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? The Rock, always enjoyed his work since 97 from the NOD to corporate to the People's Champion, his past few appearances have been a downer but still my all time fave from the time I was 9 years old and finally crossed him off as the last big star I'd never seen live last year. Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? Not really sure there's so many to pick from down the years but someone like Nathan Jones who was dreadful from debut to exit and never lived up to 1% of the hype and build they gave him coming in Favourite ever match(es)? Few of the usual suspects but one of my absolute favourites is the Royal Rumble 2000 Cactus Jack vs Triple H Street Fight. Just loved the build up and story to it and the way Foley transformed into Cactus Jack was perfect leading into it Shittest match you've ever seen? Not sure of the top of my head really Favourite ever card/event(s)? Probably Wrestlemania 17 Favourite ever pro-wrestling promotion(s)? WWE Favourite ever period in above promotion's history? Things are always better when your younger so I guess when I first became a regular watcher in 97 up to the Invasion, spent entire school days just talking wrestling Favourite ever tag-team(s)? Edge and Christian 2000 era version Favourite live show you attended? Its a recent one in Wrestlemania 40 but if we are talking more in the past Wrestlemania 26. Favourite ever piece of merch (whether you owned it or not)? Of stuff I own not really sure, guess itll be my collection of mini belts but in terms of all time stuff so much I'd have loved to have owned Favourite ever pro-wrestling media (magazine/web site/podcast/YT channel)? PowerSlam, spent hours reading it religiously If you could delete any moment from pro-wrestling history, what would it be? Goes without saying the Benoit murders, Owens Death so keeping it more in ring/Storyline based It's more of a tweak than a delete moment but I'd love to have the Invasion in 2001 have the actual stars of WCW (Sting, Goldberg, nWo, Steiner etc) Present... Current favourite pro-wrestler(s)? CM Punk Current least favourite pro-wrestler(s)? Aleistar/Malakai Black. Never been a fan of his in ring style all that much and his rambling promos of riddles and dark spooky nonsense just bored me to tears, really not looking forward to his inevitable return to WWE this year Current favourite pro-wrestling promotion(s)? WWE Current favourite tag-team(s)? Took me to a while to think of one I enjoy all that much with the Tag scene the way it is but I guess if I have to pick one it will be Fraxiom in NXT Who do are you most excited to see ascend to main event status? (Not Marty Jannetty) Bron Breaker, Jacob Fatu and Stephanie Vaquer and Oba Femi on the Main Roster How much wrestling do you watch on a weekly basis? And how much is current stuff? Raw, Smackdown, NXT and any PLE in the given month and then varies week to week but usually on average between 2-5 hours of old stuff maybe a week Next live show you are planning to attend? Smackdown and Raw at the o2 at the end of March What's on your pro-wrestling bucket list? Have been to Wrestlemania 4 times (26,38,39,40) and Extreme Rules in 2014 in the US so have already ticked of the PPV and Wresltlemania live bucket lists and been to Clash at the Castle and Money in the Bank In the UK so I guess seeing a live Royal Rumble would be next thing I'd like to see and in the UK would be even sweeter so I could go with my Brother as he hasn't been to a big show live and and we started watching together nearly 30 years ago so would be good to share that moment with him. Joe Blog Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 Past... Favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? Rocky - Started watching during his ascension in 98 so grew up watching him in his glory years. Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? Tiger Ali Singh - utter drek Favourite ever match(es)? All sound obvious but ‘Taker vs Michaels - Mania 25’ and ‘HHH vs Cactus - Rumble 2000’ Shittest match you've ever seen? One of the many brit wres matches from the North East scene, utter shit. Favourite ever card/event(s)? Summerslam 98 and Rumble 2000 Favourite ever pro-wrestling promotion(s)? Has to be WWE Favourite ever period in above promotion's history? Attitude error, wasn’t half as good as people pretend it was but it’s what I grew up watching. Covid era AEW was also very good all things considered. Favourite ever tag-team(s)? NAO- over as anything in their time. Hardy Boys - Hard to argue the impact they had. Favourite live show you attended? N/A Favourite ever piece of merch (whether you owned it or not)? N/A Favourite ever pro-wrestling media (magazine/web site/podcast/YT channel)? Powerslam I suppose If you could delete any moment from pro-wrestling history, what would it be? Flair being in AEW - Hogan back in WWE Present... Current favourite pro-wrestler(s)? Hangman - no one is close to him, everyone should he studying his character arc. Current least favourite pro-wrestler(s)? So many kicking about at the minute, really can’t decide Current favourite pro-wrestling promotion(s)? AEW - A lot of their characters just appeal to me more. Current favourite tag-team(s)? Hounds of Hell - struggled with this as tag team wrestling is rather flat again these days Who do are you most excited to see ascend to main event status? (Not Marty Jannetty) I LOVE YOU JACOB How much wrestling do you watch on a weekly basis? And how much is current stuff? Clips on youtube Next live show you are planning to attend? N/A What's on your pro-wrestling bucket list? N/A Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted February 25, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted February 25, 2025 (edited) Past... Favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? Bret Hart and Randy Savage. My favourites pretty much since I was single-digit years old and will forever be. Not only fantastic wrestlers whose in-ring talent I've only grown in appreciation of down the years, but just two of the coolest looking guys in the history of the business. Effortlessly cool is where it's at. Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? Will also keep it light so IRS and Dino Bravo. If I thought you were the shits when I was a pre-teen who adored everything, you were the SHITS. Favourite ever match(es)? Warrior v Savage at Mania 7 is my favourite match. Hart Foundation v Demolition at SummerSlam 90 is the match I love more than 99% of the rest of the world. Haku & Barbarian v Rockers from WM 7 is the match I've grown and grown to love. Bret v Austin at Mania 13 is just undisputedly the best match I've ever seen. Shittest match you've ever seen? It's hilarious but it's gotta be Brian Adams v Steve McMichael (Road Wild 98). Favourite ever card/event(s)? SummerSlam 90, Royal Rumble 91, WrestleMania 7, Royal Rumble 92, WrestleMania 9 (no, you fuck off), WrestleMania 10, Survivor Series 1996, IYH: Badd Blood, WrestleMania 14, Royal Rumble 2000, One Night Stand 2005, Revolution 2000. Favourite ever pro-wrestling promotion(s)? WWF Favourite ever period in above promotion's history? Either the summer of 1990 to the summer of 1994 or the start of 1997 through to the end of 2000. Peak days of my obsession. Favourite ever tag-team(s)? Hart Foundation, The Rockers & Kenny & Hangman. Favourite live show you attended? Not been to that many, I prefer the TV experience, but probably the first show Stevie Knight put on in Hull at the arena near the (then) new football stadium with Paul Burchill headlining and a young Drew McIntyre on the undercard. Think it's on YouTube somewhere, I'm in the front row. Favourite ever piece of merch (whether you owned it or not)? Absolutely love this Hangman Page T-Shirt. Agree with the Hasbro ring too. Favourite ever pro-wrestling media (magazine/web site/podcast/YT channel)? Powerslam magazine, SCG Radio podcast, RajahWWF website around 2000! If you could delete any moment from pro-wrestling history, what would it be? Owen Hart's death if being super serious and the death of WCW on a far less serious note. Lots of tragedies in wrestling but I still think Owen's is the saddest and most avoidable. It really was for nothing and I don't say that even to shit on whoever's idea it was because they already know and have to live with that. Present... Current favourite pro-wrestler(s)? Jon Moxley is by far the best pro-wrestler in the world. Hangman Page is incredible, Toni Storm is sensational and I miss watching CM Punk. Current least favourite pro-wrestler(s)? Undisputed Kingdom. Seth Rollins. Current favourite pro-wrestling promotion(s)? AEW Current favourite tag-team(s)? Hurt Syndicate. Never liked Bobby Lashley, this is the best use of him ever. Who do are you most excited to see ascend to main event status? (Not Marty Jannetty) Willow Nightingale could be the best and biggest female star in the modern era. I think Will Hobbs has everything and should be a megastar. How much wrestling do you watch on a weekly basis? And how much is current stuff? I probably watch 5-6 hours a week on average at the moment. I'm watching both Dynamite and Collision and then I watch old stuff for comfort. When I'm not watching, like the year or so I took off AEW from Dick Flair turning up in 2023, I miss it and watch more old stuff. Next live show you are planning to attend? Nothing at the moment. I would absolutely love to go to All In: Texas though. I want to go to Dallas and I want to see a show in a baseball stadium. Ticks both boxes. What's on your pro-wrestling bucket list? As much as I hate the company, I still want to go to WrestleMania with my brother. It's been a dream all our lives. Want to go to Hitman's Bar in Calgary. Also to see a show in Madison Square Garden. Did finally get to see MSG but it was hosting a Rangers play-off game and the cheapest tickets were $700 so only from the outside! Add that to the above mention of the Baseball Stadium. For years it was to do a wrestling trip like @JNLister did but I think that ship has probably sailed. I have negotiated Chicago and New York recently so I think I could get around but I honestly don't know what you'd see. Lister seeing ECW arena shows, WWF PPVs and Raw tapings and taking in Memphis and the Sportatorium is just unmatchable. Edited February 25, 2025 by tiger_rick Quote

Slapnut Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 Favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? - It’s either Bret Hart or Steve Austin, but a special mention to Edge who could shit in the ring and I’d probably still enjoy it. Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)? - Forum favourite Jeff Jarrett, I’m afraid. Sucked the life out of everything he was involved with in WWF, hated him in TNA, fortunately saw very little of his 00s WCW run, and truly don’t understand why he’s featured so heavily in AEW. Favourite ever match(es)? - Austin vs Rock at WM17 or Austin vs Hart at WM13. Could watch them both on repeat. Shittest match you've ever seen? - I don’t tend to remember shit matches very much, they just don’t really stick in my head. The answer is probably something with Khali in. Favourite ever card/event(s)? - Wrestlemania 17 for obvious reasons, but should out to Summerslam 2002 and Survivor Series 2002. Favourite ever pro-wrestling promotion(s)? - WWF I suppose. Favourite ever period in above promotion's history? - 1997 with the Hart Foundation, the rise of Stone Cold and the various other bits and bobs that turned the company around. Honourable mention to TNA in 2006 before Russo came along. Favourite ever tag-team(s)? - Edge and Christian Favourite live show you attended? - NXT Takeover Dallas was really special. Nothing will ever top that. Favourite ever piece of merch (whether you owned it or not)? - Probably the Austin 3:16 top. Favourite ever pro-wrestling media (magazine/web site/podcast/YT channel)? - Austin’s podcast when it first launched and he was talking about going down on his wife and that. If you could delete any moment from pro-wrestling history, what would it be? - Obviously Owen’s fall. From an on-screen perspective, would the entire 2019-current period be cheating? If so, then I’ll go with any time Vince McMahon is on screen. Present... Current favourite pro-wrestler(s)? - Hangman Page or Sami Zayn. Current least favourite pro-wrestler(s)? - The Miz. I can’t believe he’s still around. There is nobody more off putting. Logan Paul too, I won’t watch anything with him in. Current favourite pro-wrestling promotion(s)? - I don’t watch any promotion on a weekly basis but from what I’ve seen of both, AEW appeals to me more. Current favourite tag-team(s)? - Honestly, fuck knows. I couldn’t tell you who the tag team champions are in either WWE or AEW. Who do are you most excited to see ascend to main event status? (Not Marty Jannetty) - a Jacob Fatu title run would catch my eye. How much wrestling do you watch on a weekly basis? And how much is current stuff? - About 30 minutes of historical Raw episodes with my breakfast each morning, currently from 2000. I don’t watch any weekly shows, so the only other bits I see are from Twitter or what’s posted on here. Next live show you are planning to attend? - I don’t have any planned and I’ve only ever been to a handful of shows as it is, but I’d probably make an effort to go to Mania next time it’s in New York. What's on your pro-wrestling bucket list? - Wrestlemania in New York and a show in Madison Square Garden. Quote
