Best time for variety is August. Go for the week (or ideally 2) leading up to the G1 final. Then you’d get to see 2-3 bigger companies at Korakuen, have a look at the Dome and hop over to Ryogoku on final day without ever straying too far from Dome City/Suidobashi station. For indies, Shin Kiba 1st Ring is pretty easy to get to from there too even if it’s not immediately obvious where to go from the station.

As sad a state as he became Mick Foley probably. From about 1992 to 2004 he was just consistently fantastic. Never "the guy" and so never felt over exposed and switched things up enough over the years.

I loved Vader, even falling of the apron at taboo Tuesday and getting his helmet out on twitter couldn't tarnish the joy of his early 90s run. Even WWF run had some bright moments, rumble v goldust, nwo v kane, final 4.

Taz too, it's all in the pitch with him, so ECW did him a solid and his first few weeks in the WWF were great but even when he was farting about in trackies with spike I cheered him on.

I've had a soft spot for raven until about 2006 for much the same reason.

Least favourite ever pro-wrestler(s)?

CM Punk. I can appreciate why he was so beloved but he just wasn't my thing at any time. I can appreciate how technically good a painting is but still not personally enjoy looking at it. 

Favourite ever match(es)?

Cactus v H at rumble 2000. Just as close to perfect you can get for me. Right in every step from the start of the build to Cactus getting his heat back post match and everything was just on point on the night. 

I've gone into my love of this before I'm sure.

Awesome Vs Tanaka, any of them. It's mindless career shortening stuff but I loved it every time.

Anytime luger and flair were together is a win in my book too.

Shittest match you've ever seen?

Live, some 4 way tag in my town hall that went on so long one of the wrestlers started shouting "just take it fucking home" from the apron.

Ever, Patterson v Briscoe KOTR 2000.

I'll always have a soft spot for GAB 90, wrestle war 90 and starrcade 93. 

Backlash 2000 probably takes it though.

Williams & Gordy. Just something about two big fuckers fucking shit up. Bonus points for the glorious shit kicking they gave the O'Days at some clash.

Favourite live show you attended?

PCW liger v Tozawa. Me and a mate went for a day round the pubs and then caught the show. We ended up stood on a stage to see iirc, and the match was great. Might have been the same show with a crix master v Travis match too, can't be sure as it was years ago.

Have I seen better wrestling, sure, but it was just a great fun time with a great friend.

SWE CZW barbwire show was also great, although Drew Gulack (I think) grinding on me to keep the crowd back when no one was remotely near or pushing forward shaves of a snowflake.

Favourite ever piece of merch (whether you owned it or not)?

I loved my evolution "paid, laid & made" shirt in 2004. My WCW promotional banner is my favourite niche owned item, along with my Tazz Dickie's work shirt.

Worst goes to my JJ "Slap nuts" baseball jersey.

Mag I was all about power slam. Still got them all going back to issue 1 as I bought up old issues, I must have started reading about 2001 as a mate subscribed. Tried others but PS was my favourite. SWM was awful though.

Only wrestling YT thing I watch is OSW.
