Loved the Krakoan X-Men stuff right up until the Avengers/Eternals crossover, whereby it all got very tiresome.

I share a Marvel Unlimited account with my daughter so I'm about 3 months behind on the new X-Men reboot which is fine apart from the Dazzler book which is fucking awful!

The new Ultimate line is pretty good and I've just started reading the Immortal Hulk series from a few years ago which is excellent.

I was thoroughly enjoying the Energon Universe stuff, but fell off when I got Unlimited. I should probably get back on board but time as much as anything is a concern.

I need to get back on the Comixology/ Amazon stuff because I was reading quite a few fun comics on there. Scott Snyder's Barnstormers being one of my favourite things I've read in years.

Comixology is dead.

I stopped buying comics a while back and need to figure out if the stuff I had on there is still available to me via Amazon/Kindle. If not I'm not going to be happy.

I don't think it's been mentioned yet but I cannot recommend Saga highly enough.

It's a fantastic space opera with lead characters you just have to root for and memorable villains.

I didn't buy that many comics via Comixology as I was more into print at that point and generally I only bought from Comixology if I was going to a convention where they'd be talked about and I hadn't received them yet, but what I did buy was on there when it went Amazon, so you might be in luck.

Recently re reading The Unwritten and remembering how much I loved this series. Also realised I never read the 11th and final collected volume of the series, and now struggling to find a copy to buy that isn't being shipped from the USA. Anyone able to help me find a copy closer to home?

It should be. I literally just now had the same concern - my Comixology library is quite big now, so I was going to be well pissed off if I wasn't able to access it.

You have to merge your Comixology account with your Amazon one. If you search your old emails for the address connected to your Comixology account, it should give you instructions and a link on how to do it. 

Once you've done it, download the Kindle app, and give it a few minutes to populate the library.

Hey gang, my sister wants to get a comic subscription for her kids. They are fans of Marvel. What Marvel titles are on a good run at the moment? They don't have a particular preference for specific characters.

Just one man’s opinion of course, but the runs I’m currently enjoying are Immortal Thor, Miles Morales: Spider-Man, X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man (though this is getting a new number 1 issue next week, so perfect time to jump in to a new story and creative team), Daredevil, Ultimate Spider-Man, Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four, Aliens Vs Avengers (yes, those Aliens) and Wolverine. I hear good things about the Moon Knight series, but try as I might I’ve never been able to get into the character.

At the moment, there’s a Doom-centric story across several of the series, and various tie-ins. There’s some Marvel Vs Godzilla issues coming soon too, which could be fun. 

Plus, there’s Jeff The Land Shark. Yes.

Do you think it'll make it less fun then to read any of the titles where they are doing tie in stuff and only get a partial story? That used to piss me off as a kid.

Which titles are not involved in the tie in stuff if you don't mind a follow up?

All Marvel titles have a recap at the start of every issue (something I wish DC did) that brings you up to speed on any major plot points that may have occurred in a separate limited series. Either that or they’ll have an editor’s note within if, for instance, Peter Parker says “oh my god, I can’t believe Doctor Doom was arrested for flashing” and then you’ll likely have an editor’s note saying “See Doom: Pesky Perv Issue 1 for more!” If the writers do a good job, it shouldn’t be a pain to get the gist of things. 

With the Doom storyline, there’s the following…

Doctor Strange Of Asgard (decent)

Superior Avengers (new series, could be fun)

Doom Academy (most likely awful)

One World Under Doom (the main title for this story and will have all the important story bits)

Doom’s Division (utterly inconsequential)

Thunderbolts: Doomstrike (blatant cash in for the upcoming film)

Then in Fantastic Four, The Avengers, Red Hulk and Iron Man you have tie-ins to the Doom story but these are all ongoing series with their own stories. Every other title like Spider-Man, Daredevil, Thor, all the X-Men (of which there are many) and many more are Doom-free. There’s certainly more that aren’t tie-ins than those that are. 

I don’t mind a big arc that encompasses all the titles, but they do several every year. It’s just too much. The Doom storyline runs into June. The Ultimate titles are their own separate thing, different continuity. But they are good so far. 

If your kids like Star Wars as well, Marvel makes those and there’s a new number 1 of the main series on the horizon. Good place to jump in. You’ve also got a free comic book day in May if they want to sample some characters. They usually give you a taster of big stories coming up.

Some very cool looking series starting in the next few months, including a Spider-Man/Wolverine team up book. Happy days.

Anyone else not having their Image comics show up? I know they changed distributors in Europe as Diamond are cunts but it's starting to take the piss when they're constantly weeks behind.

Ultimate Wolverine is starting to get interesting, but may be a little dark/violent. 

I've picked up Godzilla Vs Fantastic 4 and then got Godzilla Vs Hulk, Godzilla Vs Spider-Man, Godzilla Vs X-Men and Godzilla Vs Avengers on pre-order 

The Miles Morales Spider-Man stuff could potentially get a bit weird soon as he's heading across to the Ultimate Universe. 

I've heard some interesting things about Absolute Martian Man Hunter, but that's the wrong company.

I haven’t checked but I heard there were issues with the latest issue of Thundercats, it was missing off the list posted by Forbidden Planet International/Worlds Apart on their socials last Tuesday but was still listed as being out last week by Forbidden Planet on their website (listings for which have now gone)

My current two recommends for Marvel would be Fantastic Four and Uncanny X-Men. There are crossovers, but they've done a decent job on Uncanny on keeping things moving along, and the new team is fun.

I've not been much of a comic book reader at all since I was a kid, but I've been checking out a few of the Ghost Machine titles since you posted this. I really like the Unnamed series (especially Redcoat) and Rook, but not as high on the Family Odysseys or Hyde Street stuff. But for the most part they're a really fun read and it's nice reading something new which doesn't require any previous knowledge.
