I didn't like Barrett on commentary, he was a little OTT, e.g. how diabolical Sonya Deville was and then when PFC did some teamwork apparently they were depraved, it was giving me Matt Striker vibes.

Yeah, this stood out to me as well. Evil and diabolical Sonya Deville. Since when? She’s a generic heel who attacks people backstage with her cronies. She’s not sacrificing puppies.

Seeing Finn Balor have FXXX on his entrance graphic makes it look like a newspaper censoring a swearword. Oh look, here comes Fuck Balor.

I hope that’s the last we see of Joe Hendry. Catchy music aside, he’s so bland.

Curious to learn more about this hot young superstar who’s the surprise winner of the rumble only to learn he’s been in the company for 15 years and he turns 40 this year.

Are you trying to say you think he’s too old to have a top level run?

Given (for example) that AJ Styles is 47, Christian Cage is 51 and Sting was still going in his 60s, I don’t think pushing 40 could really be considered ‘old’ in wrestling anymore (which is great news for those of us pushing 40!)

WWE could easily get a good 5-year plus run with him as a main event level star. I’m not convinced they’ll do that…but hey, we’ll see what happens.

- on half the women’s entrants - “who’s that?”

That's a better hitrate than myself.

I dipped in for the first time in forever, didn't know who most people were and then when MCMG turned up in a tag match I assumed I was having a hallucination in 2010 brought on by glue-sniffing.

Loved Jey Uso winning.

5 Stars.

Imagine if it's a Reigns/Punk/Seth triple threat at Mania.

Sounds horrendous.

Fucking stop it. I'm praying they're just building various threads as a lead in to the Chamber, as absolutely fuck that.

Seth needs to find Jesus or something and disappear on a spiritual journey for a year. Just go away.

Also, apologies for linking to a tribal turds Twitter but...

Both feet definitely touched. They need to stop tempting fate by doing so many of these spots.

That audio sounds like something @Merzbowlistens to.

Thinking about it, what if it's Cody vs Roman vs Punk? With Roman challenging Cody only for Punk to call in that favour

You have a thousand words. Make it make sense that THAT is a favour Heyman can grant.

He's not the fucking genie from Aladdin..

This is fun. Almost certainly absolute cobblers, but Meltzer trying to pretend he's in the know but 'doesn't want to say' is absolutely pathetic.

Meltzer is the most tragic figure in a sport of mostly tragic figures. Just embarassing.

I'm not even sure I could think of a wrestler who was getting all their shit in, especially not one doing it to the detriment of the match. Bron hit a few spears... Penta did the bloody hand thing a bit too much... yeah. Horseshit.

When he got eliminated, him and Priest sort of bumped into LA Knight and Logan Paul, who were in the middle of the ring doing a spot. It's likely one of those. And since I'm presuming every single one of Paul's moves/movements was heavily scripted ahead of time, I'm going on the assumption he was talking about Knight.

I hadn't spotted that, I'll go watch it back. Great spot.

I can't imagine for a second he'd be annoyed with Logan Paul as, like you say, everything Logan will have done will have been planned in advance except for those moments he was being led by someone else. Plus Drew probably doesn't want to pick a 'it's me or him' backstage fight with Logan Paul.

Triple H loves his streamers.

Stunning good luck they had that ready, and that he was wearing gym gear.

Music aside,I often see you down the gym in your Crocs Dazzler. That aside H³ loves streamers more than a main event Japanese wrestling crowd at the Tokyo Dome so having Speed in rather than Tozawa is par for the course. That they didn't just put him in rather than concocting a little story is more thought than that sort of thing is normally given. It was all worth it for the spear that Bron gave him.

The Men's Rumble itself was enjoyable for the combination of Penta's botches and some great big man battling. Lots of stories to come out of it rather than just the winner, and again just a little tease of Bron and Jacob Fatu. We'll see where it leads, hopefully to something spectacular.

It does look from this like the LA Knight/Logan Paul spot was working to a plan, and that maybe Priest/Drew were the problem.

Fuck knows.

Love a bit of drama though. Especially if Meltzer doesn't know.
