The King Of Swing Posted June 22, 2025 Posted June 22, 2025 Enjoyed Collision much more than Dynamite. Toni Storm is the best promo in the business. The STP lads, Nana and Big Tony placing bets during Swerve Vs. Taylor, is my kind of goofy fun. Really fun 8 woman main event. Kota Ibushi showing up and not looking completely washed up. A short run against Okada, could be a decent time killer until All In. I'm actually intrigued by Statlander's interactions with The Death Riders. Yuta legging it past Statlander, in the background got a laugh out of me. Quote

Paid Members mim731 Posted June 23, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 23, 2025 Nice to Ibushi not looking as bad as he did the last time he turned up. Definitely still felt a bit sluggish looking with those strikes compared to previously, but the kicks looked great so I'm hoping he's much closer to fully healthy (or as close as is possible) and can go, as a fit and motivated Ibushi in AEW could be a lot of fun. Merzbow Posted June 23, 2025 Posted June 23, 2025 (edited) Yeah I hope he can stay healthy and maybe stick to more shoot style stuff rather than risking double broken ankles again.. early on in his career he was really something of a shoot style prodigy and was seemingly taken under Ikeda's wing, shame a lot of those early FU-TEN shows never made it to TV. Then you've got stone cold classics like this a few years later. Edited June 23, 2025 by Merzbow Quote

Maybe it’s just me, but I thought that was one of the worst AEW matches for a while - not because of the out-of-ring antics, but because everything Shane Taylor did felt a bit off. I’ve not seen enough of him to say he’s not very good, but he wasn’t very good in that match. Big Bill’s dated ‘you sleep around’ nonsense to Mother Wayne can get in the bin too. The crowd didn’t react to it at all, so good for them. On 6/22/2025 at 8:05 PM, The King Of Swing said: I'm actually intrigued by Statlander's interactions with The Death Riders. Yeah, me too. I’m interested in where that’s going. Quote
The King Of Swing Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 Yeah the match itself wasn't great and I agree that the "lol your mom's a slut" shit can get in the bin. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted June 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 24, 2025 (edited) Absolute megastar. Best look in the business. I love her so much. Nothing better in pro-wrestling than someone completely in the groove. It’s not really been mentioned much because there were so many other flaws with John Cena’s promo on Smackdown, but I did think it was significant how Toni’s promo on Saturday undermined John the night before. Friday saw the, “wild and out of control,” John Cena still close his, “Pipebomb,” with the lamest, “Elvis has left the motherfudging building.” Then Toni rocks up twenty four hours later with, “I am not some other motherfucker.” I swear they’re doing it on purpose at this point. 2025 is filled with examples of WWE leaving the goal wide open and AEW quietly tapping it in. WWE’s storylines becoming this messy web of meta bullshit, whilst AEW has became this tight, focussed fiction. Triple H telling his fans to, “fuck off being a critic,” whilst Tony is asking fans, “please don’t gatekeep.” WWE plastering countless adverts over everything, so AEW stick one, singular block, “”AEW,” logo on their canvas. WWE spending their entire Wrestlemania season banging on about, “the billionaire’s son,” whilst there’s seemingly been a company-wide edict for no-one in AEW to mention WWE on television or rise to the bait on Twitter. It’s all too perfect. Something has changed. I’m assuming AEW have hired someone to counter-act like this, or maybe it’s just the Universe bringing balance to The Force. I like to think it was the curse Julie Hart put on Triple H in Montreal. “Don't give me that shit, because you guys knew it, you knew it from the very beginning, all of you. Yeah, well, swear to God all you want, someday God is going to strike you down.” The curse was on Hunter ever since, but they cleverly waited until his Kingdom was at its highest. It was only then that Bret activated it with one roll of the eyes. Edited June 24, 2025 by Supremo Quote

My favourite thing was that Big Bill was insinuating that Christian may not be Nick Wayne's bio father because Mother Wayne has slept around. And nobody questioned the other reason he may not be his bio dad. Quote
The King Of Swing Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 I'd laugh my arse of if Yuta just has a massive crush on Statlander and Mox is just trying to get them together. Just a reminder to never allow me to book a wrestling promotion. Quote

I think Tony heard you praising the recent King of the Ring four ways because he's just announced these absolute bangers. He must be on the wind up. Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted June 25, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 25, 2025 Fucking Roddy Strong. Just, why? Tony deserves every bit of the praise from Supes two posts ago and yet the daft cunt can't stop watching Feinstein's tapes before bedtime. Women's match looks incredible. Quote

Paid Members JLM Posted June 25, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 25, 2025 (edited) I’m going to my first ever EVE show on the 4th of July. Been meaning to go to one for ages but this one convinced me because it has Kris Statlander on it. Edited June 25, 2025 by JLM Quote
Paid Members Statto Posted June 26, 2025 Paid Members Posted June 26, 2025 Not seen Dynamite yet so no comment on that, but jumping in while it's spoiler free in here to share a thought (fantasy book TBH) I've just had. I've previously pushed back against Hangman needing to revert to his old theme at All In (on the basis I still really like his current one for him as a confident arse-kicking babyface), but then the idea came to me - they re-use the super special version of his old theme from the Dark Order entrance and recreate that (as it's the best entrance of all time). Do a new video package over the prelude, then lights out and the reveals as the spotlights come on are: - Dark Order (as a throwback to the original) - The Opps (who I'm presuming will have dealt with Claudio/Yuta/Kidd earlier in the evening) - Ospreay (who will have dealt with the Bucks, alongside...) - Swerve (who gives Hangman the tiniest "yep, go do it" nod as he passes). Hangman then presumably enters on a horse as it's Texas. AEWvengers Assemble to support Captain Hangman as he goes off to finish off the big bad. Quote
